HEAVEN
I think of Heaven as a separate dimension,
Another realm.
So full of Goodness that it spills over into this one.
Take a moment and quietly look around you.
open your eyes and your heart
And you will see where Heaven spills out into our lives.
You will see:
The miracle of Heaven when you watch a baby sleeping.
The wonderment of Heaven when a toddler's face shows
delight at learning something new.
The warmth of Heaven in the embrace of a friend.
The comfort of Heaven on a Grandparent's lap.
The beauty of Heaven when a butterfly graces a flower.
The awe of Heaven when the sun arises amidst silvery clouds.
The love of Heaven in the face of a groom
as his bride meets him at the altar.
The glory of Heaven when the Choir sings without music.
The spirit of Heaven in the art of Sunday school children.
All of these things are visible if your have Jesus in your life.
The most powerful to me are the things
You must see with your faith:
The Grace of God when you pray for forgiveness.
The Love of God when Jesus wore a Crown of Thorns.
And
The Ultimate Power of God when He calls your loved one Home
As you sit helplessly by and watch them fade.

ONE BREATH
Mother, I try to judge the distance
To the place where you must be.
It seems to be an infinite distance
Far beyond my reach.
As I pray for understanding, I realize
Heaven is not a far away place,
But a separate realm whose boundaries
Are tissue thin.
Heaven is close, all around us.
It is as close a one heartbeat,
One Breath.
For upon the occurrence of your last breath,
You leave this Earthly Realm and enter
The Heavenly Realm.
So now I know, Mother, you are always near me,
Just beyond my reach.
Only One Breath away.
