Introduction:
Recreational folk dancing is great exercise,
relaxing, educational and fun.
It is one of those rare activities that can be enjoyed by people
of all ages.
Over the past 20 years, Calgary Folkdance Fridays has been
teaching
traditional dances from around the world (and a few that
aren't). Our traditional
current selection consists of over 250 different dances taught
by instructors who
donate their time, expertise and enthusiasm for folk dancing.
Anyone can learn to folk dance. No special training is required;
just wear
comfortable non-floor marking shoes.
You don't even need to bring a partner. Come out for a night of
dancing and meet
a new group of friends.

8:00 until 10:30 p.m.

Details:
Join us for international folk dancing Friday nights
from September until May.
The first hour is devoted to warm-up and teaching new dances.
This is followed
by a request period. A wood floor makes
dancing a dream and you
will glide smoothly like you've danced all your life.
Instructors include:
Ann Kyle and Ken Charkow
as well as other members of the group on occasion.
Newcomers are welcome, no partner needed and the first night is
free.
$5.00 drop-in fee for subsequent evenings can be used to
purchase an annual
or semi annual membership. Teens always welcome free of charge!
