GEORGE MARION SISSON

Born 03 April, 1839 in Switzerland County, Indiana.


He was the first of the three children of Henry B. Sisson and Mary R. SCHAFER.

On 26 Feb. 1861, he married Sara (Sallie) A. MARCY. By the time their first child was born in 1862, they were in Kentucky.

George enlisted in the Union Army on 16 July, 1862 in Paris, Kentucky as a 2nd Lieutenant, and served in B Co., 7th Kentucky Volunteer Cavalry until he was mustered out at Edgefield , TN on 10 July, 1865. His rank when he was mustered out was Full Captain.

George died 08 June 1897, and is buried in Paint Lick Cemetery, Sugar Creek, Kentucky.

SARAH (SALLIE) A. MARCY


Sallie Marcy was born 07 December 1840 in Ohio County, Indiana, the youngest child of Rodger Marcy and Mary [?]. She died 08 September, 1897. Although not documented in my records, she is most likely buried in Paint Lick Cemetery, Sugar Creek, Gallatin County, Kentucky.
