Hello all. Wecome to the page for the Support_Israel list at Yahoo! Groups at groups.yahoo.com.

I made the list because I had already been sending out material online to many people I know, so I thought this might help expand the possibilities for the info I've been sending to reach more people. At this point, I have mostly passed on things that other people send me, and occaisionally I write something original if time permits. Everyone else is encouraged to do the same, provided it obeys the rules (which will be discussed later.)

This mailing list will serve several purposes:

1. To disseminate information, links, websites, petitions, events and discussions pertaining to the situation in Israel and in support of the plight of the Israeli people.  Everyone is welcome to post such things.
2. To allow discussion and the asking of questions about the above things.
3. To bring people closer together, and inform them about what's going on.

The rules of the list:

1. Please do not insults other people's ideas or beliefs or disrespect anyone.
Polite disagreements may arise, but the purpose here is not to be inflammatory. There are people on the list with different political ideas and persuasions, degrees of religiousity if you are Jewish, and non-Jews as well. We are all friends here. If you have an argument with someone, please don't air it out in front of everyone.
2. Cursing -- please don't. There are people of all ages on this list, from elementary school kids to adults. Please conduct yourself in a professional manner when writing anything.
3. At the beginning at least, please ID yourself by your name (or at least a nickname if you want to remain anonymous) at the end of your post.

For the most part we feature news and articles from a variety of sources. This includes Arutz-7, Gamla, Ha'Aretz, MEMRI, Israel Line, IMRA, Globe, BNI, and official press and news releases from American, Israeli, and Arab sources. Sometimes you will also see something original if time permits.

Any and all info on this list may be forwarded to anyone else who is interested. People are encouraged to get their friends to join if they are interested, either by sending them a link to the eGroups website, or by sending a list of email addresses to the owners of the list, who will do it for them. Or, send them a link to:

which will direct them to this page, where they can subscribe to the list by clicking on the buttons on this page, or by sending a blank e-mail to the indicated address below.

Right now, I have configured everyone to get a Digest of all the emails that are sent out every day. This will help to eliminate cluttering people's mailboxes. However, you can change your settings to your preferences by going to the eGroups website.

With regards to the appearance that anything that is sent out may appear to go out on the Sabbath, that is because the eGroups server sends out its Digests only once a day. It consists of things from an entire day's postings; unfortunately that may sometimes result in Friday postings being emailed out on the Sabbath. Some people do send things out on Sabbath. That is not the official policy of this list, but this list says in its description that all types of people belong to it, and that pluralism is what was intended in this list's inception. I hope this helps to clarify things.

It is my hope that this will help spread a lot more info around, and help inform the public about the plight of the Israeli people. I hope everyone looks forward to participating. This list is getting started, so any positive help would be great.
