About Me
Music has always been a way of life for me. It's taken me on a fantastic adventure over the years, allowing me to meet and work with many of my all time heroes.
The late 70s were spent mainly involved with the Christian music scene, being involved in the bands "11.59" and "PTO" whilst also playing guitar and synthesizer in the musicals "Come Together" and "Yesterday,Today, Forever"respectively.
During the 1980's I played keyboards (though 12string guitar was my first instrument) with a band called "Flip". We were signed to Arista records here in the UK and RCA in the Benilux countries of Europe. In Germany we were with Teldec, and in the States on Columbia. Our only claim to fame here in the UK was appearing on the classic BBC Childrens TV show "Crackerjack", though we had more success in The Netherlands with a track called "Thats what they say about love" hitting the number one spot, and appearing on several Dutch and German TV shows.
The album "FLIP" was fantastic to record as the bulk of it was recorded at the world famous ABBEY ROAD STUDIO in London. 3 things stand out as lasting memories of this time. Firstly, I met and received a kiss from my personal heroine Kate Bush. Secondly, working with Eric Stuart of 10cc fame. Thirdly, and most bizzarly playing table tennis in the legendary Studio 2 (the studio where The Beatles recorded most of their hits) which, suprisingly wasn't in use at the time.
The sad death of my mother in 1996 made me reconsider my life and caused me to direct my creative talents towards writing the songs that were soon to become "ANDY'S DINER"

ANDY'S DINER - The CD
The CD took an age to record, especially as I had a business to run, and a family to show that I was more than just a shadow fleeting in and out of the house!
The project involved some marvellous musicians whose contributions brought me close to tears at times. Kelly Groucutt of ELO sang the track "Everlastin' Love" as if it was written for him. Doug Scarratt of Saxon proved just what a class guitarist he is. Alan Darby played guitar in Eric Claptons band during a recent tour. Soprano Sax was played by New Yorker "Butch" Thomas whos credits read like a who's who of world music, though for me his work with Sting stands out as being where it's at. Steve Balsamo played "Jesus" in the West End production of "Jesus Christ Superstar" and sings the closing track "Mountain" like a God!
There were many other musicians involved in the project, but it would be nothing without Mick Lister (formerly of "The Truth" ).His production caught the mood of each of the songs perfectly, whilst his vocals on some of the tracks were superb.
