Letters From Happy Devon Rex/Sphynx Kitten Owners
| Hi Jeannie,
How do I love her, let me count the ways....more than I could possibly
imagined. She's everything I dreamed of and more! There could not be a
better cat out there for my family. She slept all the way home on the
floor of the car, what a great traveler. And slept the last three nights
with my husband and I and he didn't have any kind of allergic reaction!
Hooray! The kids are in heaven as well, she can actually outlast my son
which is a feat in itself! And she has to be everywhere and anywhere there
is any action, follows me from room to room, she is even helping me type
this as I speak. I have never owned a purebred cat before but I can tell
you right now I have fallen in love with the Devon Rex (especially mine)
and I will never have another breed. Oh by the way, we have named her
Annie B. Warbucks after your Hollywood theme. (We call her Annie!) Thanks
again for all your help. Annie sends you her love too!
Take care and have a great day!
Diane and Family |
| Hi Jeannie!
It has been a month now that we've had Annie and I can't even imagine
life without her, it's like she has always been part of our family. She
is so very spoiled and treated like a new born baby, with lots of attention
and lots of love. My husband and son are the two big toys to play with,
and when she is tired from all that play she comes to my daughter or I
for rest and pampering. What a life! She appears to be the social butterfly
of the family and whenever we have company she visits each and every person
in turn. The last guest had obviously never seen or heard of devon rex's
and when he saw Annie he said, "Man....., did you give your cat a
hair cut?" Too funny! (I tried not to laugh) The other great news
is Bobby's mom came to visit for a few days and she is deathly allergic
to cats, even to the point of asthma attacks, and she had not one problem.
I'll send pictures you pictures soon. I'm so glad I found you, we really
love Annie so much!
Talk to you soon,
Diane |
| Hi Jeannie,
Sorry, it has taken me so long to reply but I use my parents computer
when I am at there house. Now that I have Jack, I don't seem to get over
here as much. His eyes are still an aqua blue color which I love. He has
such a great personality and always wants lots of attention. I noticed
recently that he has started to get more hair. It's really noticeable
on his back. But his wrinkly forehead is still the same. He does always
look like he is question everything. He has a great attitude towards new
people too. Whenever family or friends come over he just gets right in
the middle of everything. He's very comfortable in any social situation.
I can't figure out the Q-tip thing. He gets so excited when I get them
out. My favorite thing is that he does the halloween pose and stalks the
Q-tips. Anyway, Jack is adjusting fine and is training me to live in his
apartment. Talk to you soon!
Cheryl |
| Jeannie,
I hope you remember me. It's been a long time. I just wanted to take
a moment and update you on the little Devon you sold me. Jack is doing
fine. He's updated on all his shots and seems to love living with me.
Pretty soon he'll be eight months old. His favorite thing to do is sit
in the window and watch all the neighbors come and go. We just got our
tree today and he is so excited. Christmas is going to be a really great
this year.
I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for giving me such a wonderful
little character in my life. I can't tell you how grateful I am. I just
took a whole bunch of pictures of him. I'll mail them to you soon. Hope
all is well. Happy Holidays to you and your family.
Sincerely,
Cheryl |
| Jeannie,
I have been meaning to write you for so long to tell you what a great
cat Pope is.
He has really turned the household upside down. He is Huge! Pope has
really stolen the hearts of allot of our friends and family because of
his gregarious behavior. He constantly wants to be involved in every dinner
party and social function. You can never use the internet without his
paw hitting the wrong button. Feel free to use me as a reference.
JOHN |
| Jeannie,
Alvin is doing GREAT!! He is such a good cat, he loves to be pet and
play!! He is a little nervous around our dogs, but he is slowly getting
used to them. Thanks sooooo much!!
Brittany |
| Hi Jeannie,
Well, we made it home before the traffic got bad. Milo did a little crying
in his box, so I opened the top to pet him, and he purred and clutched
my hand the whole way home. He doesn't seem to care what's going on (big
rigs passing by, etc.) as long as he can feel a human touch...sigh! My
heart is already swelling :-)
Once home, I showed him his potty box and he relieved his bursting bladder...ha!
Then I showed him his water and dry food and also dished him out some
wet food. No problem chowing that down! He's got a great appetite just
like you mentioned. Since his snack, he has literally attached himself
to me. Right now he is on my shoulder licking my face and ear and swatting
at loose pieces of my hair. What a cutie...I'm in love : -)
Especially that little "squeak" that comes out of his mouth...it
sorta goes "eee-eee"...I make the same sound back to him and
we have been conversating back and forth. I must say he reminds me sorta
like a mini-cougar with his creamy fur and stocky build. If he was a girl,
I might have called him Elsa (Born Free).
Well, I'm not sure if he can get in out of my twin bed yet, so I'm dragging
the quilt and pillows down to the floor so we can have a nap together.
I'm pleasantly surprised how happy he seems with me already. I think we're
going to be a nice match. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
We'll e-mail you an update in a few days...
Edie & Milo |
| Hi Jeannie,
24 hours later, and we've bonded like Super glue! I introduced Milo to
a couple of neighbor friends today...and after commenting on how adorable
he is, they also noticed how attached he seems with me. Like when they
held him, he would look around for me and his face would brighten when
he spotted me.
His favorite toy? It's from a cat toy manufacturer called Metropolitan
and it's a wand with a (hook-less) fishing lure tied to it with fishing
line. (Sounds a bit dangerous, so I keep it on the fridge when not playing!)
The fishing lure is a mouse made from a small piece of moose hide/hair
(body of mouse) and a small scrap of suede leather (for the ears and tail).
When I move the wand around the floor, the spring-like action of the fishing
line makes the mouse dart around realistically. Milo goes BONKERS! He
does an "up in the air" four-paw pounce that totally cracks
me up!
Speaking of which, I have laughed so much since he arrived that I now
realize how much I was missing having a cat for the past 3-4 years! Laughter
IS the best medicine and I even feel less bothered by my arthritis!!
While sleeping, he cuddles in the crook of my elbow and warms me up like
a hot water bottle :-)
Milo seems to know his name already. I bet you taught him that! He is
so well-adjusted, happy and independent. No doubt due to the wonderful
care and attention he received from you and Mama Cher!
Feel free to cut and paste any of my e-mails to use on your web site.
Plus, over this weekend, I'll e-mail you a glowing recommendation and
many happy comments from a very, very satisfied customer!!!
many thanks,
Edie |
| "Milomania" Several years after my last
cat passed away, I started looking for a new feline companion. I previously
owned a Siamese but felt that getting another would be like trying to
replace the one I loved so much.
I first became acquainted with the Devon Rex through my sister. She suffers
from cat allergies and finds that Rex's are the only cat breed she can
live with comfortably, due to their unique coat of hairless, downy fur.
I twice had the pleasure of cat-sitting for her and discovered there's
a lot more to Devon's than less sniffling and sneezing. These cats are
dynamic!
The initial impression one gets upon seeing a Devon Rex is that they
look a lot like "Yoda" from the Star Wars movie. Peach fuzz
skin, wrinkled forehead and pixie face with huge eyes and ears! But that's
where the comparison ends. Unlike the old and wise Yoda, Devon's are delightful,
entertaining and totally unpredictable. Think of a kitten that never grows
up!
My search for a breeder led me to Jeannie Kelley's web site called Movieland
Cattery. As the name implies, her Devon's are named after movie stars...there's
the glamorous Cher, handsome Elvis and every-funny Lucy. Jeannie's love
of Devon's is extremely contagious. She is a knowledgeable and experienced
breeder who works hard to raise the newborn kittens and prepare them for
their new homes. In January 2001, I paid a deposit for a kitten in Cher's
upcoming litter.
Cher gave birth to her litter on February 5th. I chose a little cream
boy with mackerel tabby markings and named him Milo. Jeannie sent me weekly
e-mail updates until he was ready to leave his mom about three months
later. The pictures and stories helped me bond with Milo even before I
held him.
Today, Milo and I are inseparable buddies. He is healthy, happy and full
of personality. His funny antics have me laughing harder than I ever thought
possible. Milo will jump into the bathtub and join me for a shower. He
likes to ride on the vacuum cleaner around the house. His favorite toy
is a canvas-covered stuffed animal for dogs. And when my sweet little
boy tuckers out, he curls up in my lap and purrs himself to sleep.

| Dear Jeannie,
Sorry it has been so long. I have been meaning to write again.
We just saw his new picture on your site with his cute little sweater.
The whole family adores him so much. It was very hard after
the loss of our dog, but, Hershey came and filled a void in out hearts.
He has especially gotten to my Mom who like every grandma spoils
him rotten. (he he) He sleeps with me or my son and always lays
with my Mom during the day he loves the back of the chair. And boy
can he 'chatter' at all the birds, he loves looking out side but hates
when we go out without him. I will be sending pictures of out angel
soon. I just wanted to thank you again, you have given us the most
beautiful and loving gift ever.
Talk to you soon,
Christine & Matthew |
| Oh Jeannie, how wonderful! From the moment I laid
eyes on her I was deeply in love, as were my parents. My Dad said
that she needed to stay in one room until she adjusted-that never happened-she
came adjusted. Once he saw her and picked her up that was all it
took. She has been on his lap and my Mom's lap getting all the attention
she can stand-it seems she can stand a lot. Just one look of those
beautiful blue eyes and whatever she wants is hers. She did well
using her litter box as soon as I showed it to her. I may need to
get one that isn't so tall, but we will see. I showed her the food
and water, but she wasn't too interested in that yet-too many places to
explore. She has already been such a joy for all of us-even our
(70+) little neighbor had to see her. None of us could believe how
petite she is, what a doll. Thank you so much, I will write again
(more coherently).
K. Le Roy |
| Jeannie,
You can give our e-mail address to your future customers if you like
and we will tell them what a ft5g great person you are. (the funny
stuff on the previous line was done by Devonee.) She had followed
me downstairs and got into my lap while I am writing to you and before
I could stop her she decided to write to you too. Jeannie, they
are sooooo precious. Nadine is going to sit down some time in the
near future and write you herself. (woman's view) I always
showed her the letters I wrote you but they were from me. It was
me that has wanted a Devon Rex for so long and when she saw the group
picture you sent me and then I showed Nadine the one I was going to get,
she fell in love with them too, and we were so great full that you allowed
us to get her one also. Both kittens stayed in our bed last night.
And of course, they have found places in our house that even we didn't
know were there. They withstood the airline trip just great.
When the man put the carrier up on the counter, I put my fingers inside
the door and they both came over and rubbed on them, right then I knew
that everything was ok.
Please keep in touch,
Bob & Nadine |
Jeannie:
I just wanted to drop you a note to let you know how much we LOVE our little
kitty. She has the friendliest personality of any cat I have ever met.
We named her Moonie. Thank you so much. I can tell she was raised with a
lot of love.

| Jeannie:
We made it home. Meowing all the way! The little boy was a little nervous
when we got here but still purred like he had a motor in him. He is eating,
drinking & using his litter box! Every couple hours he gets the zoomies
and zooms around the house as fast as he can. He found a couch back he
liked and slept there last night. We still don't have a name picked, I'll
let you know when we do!
Thanks very much for this little sweetheart. He is such a love!
Kala |
Hi Jeannie -
Well, it's been just over a week now and the little boy is doing wonderful.
It's like he owns the place. I think he has a motor in him, he's constantly
purring. He loves to hang out with us. He is so interested in whatever we
are doing. His attitude is the closer he can get to the action the better!
And when you talk to him he usually talks back, it is so precious! We named
him Devo (like Dee-Voe). I attached a couple pictures for you, can you tell
which one he is watching our gerbil in?! We are so happy with him. Thanks
again for this little sweetheart.

| Hello Jeannie,
Just wanted to send you an update on our kitties. After much hissing
and lingering stares, Jack is finally taken with Sophie. They are almost
completely inseparable. They love to chase each other around the house.
First you see Jack go by, then Sophie shortly after. Then a couple seconds
later Sophie is in the lead with Jack close in toe. It's just like a day
at the races. They clean each other. Sleep curled up together. And if
Sophie has misplaced Jack, she cries for him till she can find him again.
It's so cute, they have there own language.
I love the little bald, crinkled up forehead when she is thinking. Her
favorite toy so far is the computer. She loves the little mouse guide
on the computer screen. She'll chase it around and even lick it. She's
got a great personality and charm about her. We love her very much. She's
the perfect addition to our little family. Thank you!
Thanks Again,
Cheryl

| Dear Jeannie,
Hi. Trixie is doing very well. She is growing like a weed. We are having
a lot of fun with her, she has a mixed personality, sometimes she is off-the-wall
playful and just making us laugh at her little antics other times she
is very loving and snuggly. If you had asked me before getting a Devon
I would never had believed a cat could be like that. We are very excited
to get her a little brother to play with. Thanks again! Candace
|
Jeannie:
She is long and lean, still her svelte 6 pounds, and very much still
a kitten at one year old. Spoiled rotten doesn't even begin to say it.
When she has to use the litter box, she cries until I come and watch,
then she does her business-normal cats like privacy. If I go outside,
she waits at the door until I start to come back in and then cries and
cries when I get close, pretending to have missed me. Of course when
I open the door she takes off running sideways wanting to be chased.
She still sleeps with me at night, but about 11:30 every day, she curls
up on the futon and takes her mid day nap. I have never known a cat
with so much personality and fun loving game playing. I can't imagine
being without her. She has added so much fun and joy into all of our
lives. She still likes to wink at us, if we wink back she comes running
with her back arched up ready to play. It is so much like having a small
child around-and we get so worn out before she does. She knocks her
mice under the sofa and then cries for "grandma" to fish it
out for her-just a ploy to get "grandma" low enough to chew
on her hair. She still loves being on our shoulders (where she stayed
a long time the other morning when she could hear the coyotes outside).
Thank you so much for allowing us to adopt her. We are all so in love
with this little "angel" and yes, she still likes to be carried
from room to room, when she is not running. Take care, KLP

| Jeannie,
I am absolutely in love with our new kitty! We've named her Miette -
which
is from the movie, City of Lost Children. I thought a movie name was
appropriate, and Miette means "little crumb" in French, although
it was a
little girl in the movie.
Today she's catching up on lost sleep from her first few days of "sensory
overload". She's very happy, purrs constantly, sits on my lap while
I'm
doing everything, and turns EVERYTHING into a toy or a game. Clearly,
you
put a lot of personal energy into her and it shows. She's very "present"
to
everyone she meets, very friendly, very interested. She's adjusting to
her
new kitty housemates, and they are getting used to her. This morning,
both
Miette and Brian (our big Tabby) were sleeping on our bed.
Thanks again.
Denise |
| Jeannie,
Hena is doing very well she seemed to have adjusted quickly I am just
waiting on the resident cat to warm up to her. She is eating and functioning
well. She has a good disposition I am very happy with her, I would recommend
your cattery.
Thanks
Lou |
| Hi Jeannie,
Chloe is doing wonderfully! She's up to 4 lbs. I continue to be impressed
by her self confidence and wonderful personality. You clearly spend a
lot of time with your kittens. Thank you!
She is very happy. She's certainly enjoying the warm weather. She has
a couple of different cat trees to play on and enjoys the other cat.
Thank you again for keeping the breed going and producing such well adjusted
and healthy kittens.
I continue to be most impressed with how well socialized my kitten was.
I've gotten other cats from catteries that are very nervous and skittish.
I figure the breeders just didn't spend much time with the kittens. This
is definitely not the case with Chloe. She owns the house and gets along
with our other cat just great.
Sincerely,
Teresa |
Hi Jeannie,
Well, I am enchanted! I'm in love! I can't get enough of this little guy.
He's just fantastic. I don't think he's stopped purring since about five
minutes after he got here. He has explored, and slept, and played, and eaten,
and peed....guess it's time to do it all over again about a million times!
Since I'm watching him--making sure he is safe while he learns the lay out
of the house, I'll be brief, but I couldn't help but email you to thank
you for this new little treasure. I just love him!!!

Hi again Jeannie,
Just wanted to check in and let you know how our little man fared in his
first day away from home....he's great! He's a little insecure to be put
down, but between you and me, I think its a con to be carried everywhere!
No worries though--it works perfectly! He's quite the little prince. He
is a lover too....he loves to snuggle and 'kiss' faces. He just delights
me. And--get this--even my cat disdaining husband is being won over. Believe
me, I've been married to him for 16 years, and he has always merely tolerated
my cats. Never would pet or otherwise have any interaction save a sneer
or disgusting look..... But I wish you could have seem the little price
asleep on Brent's lap for about an hour last night! All the kids kept sneaking
peeks around the corner. They were as amazed as I was! I guess it has something
to do with the very different look of this breed or something? I don't know,
but I like it. Brent has snuggled with the kitten several times now, and
in plain sight of the rest of us. Simply remarkable!
Well, I've got to run for now, but wanted to let you know things are
going smoothly so far....well, our resident cat is not thrilled yet. He
is still hissing and being a jerk, but hopefully he'll get over it soon.
Oh, and of course you are welcome to use my comments on your web site.
I only wish I could have better expressed the delight this little guy
is bringing to our family. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart!

Hi Jeannie,
Just thought I would let you know that we made it home just fine. She slept
half the way and played with Alyssa the other half. She is so much more than
we had hoped for.She took to our home like she has lived here for ever and
has already found her favorite place to sleep which is on my bed!(YEAH)
My girls are being stingy with her of course and I was happy that she chose
my bed .Looks like I will get to spend some time with her after all.She
has followed the girls where ever they have gone.Well anyway, just want to
thank you one more time for the most purrrfect kitty we could ever have
asked for.You can use my letter as a ref. if you would like.
I will send you some pics in a couple of weeks or so and keep you updated. Also
will be talking to you soon about another kitty!
Take Care (Your the greatest!)

Good morning!
We've got Zona -safe and sound. He's great! You weren't kidding about him
being affectionate -he's all over us. He's trying to help me type this right
now. Purring up a storm too!
Thank you very, very much!
Be assured that he will live a long and happy life with us.
|
| Hi Jeannie,
I just wanted to let you know, the boy arrived safely last night. He
is so affectionate. He came out just wanting love and attention. Not timid
at all, he just came out and started purring and nuzzling. He follows
me around and likes to play a lot. He likes batting at my fingers and
then catches one and then bites it. Once in a while, those small teeth
hurt.
I also took him to the vet today just to make sure he is healthy. I could
tell you what a commotion he caused. All work stopped for at least 10
minutes while everyone took their turns for holding and nuzzling. They
all said he was so adorable, even if he was naked. He should be very handsome
when his hair grows back. The vet had a hard time listening to his heart
because he wouldn'tt stop purring. She would face him towards running
water, he would stop, she would then turn around and try to listen; but
he would start right up again. I think they gave up.
Thank you again for him. I need to find a name soon so that I could stop
calling him boy.

| Hi Jeannie-
She is SO MUCH cuter in person and she is so little. For some reason
she looked bigger in the pictures that you sent. She is super affectionate
too. When we got in the car I let her out of the carrier and she laid
down on my lap and started purring so loud while I was petting her. We
got her home and we were awake until about 2am walking her around the
house to help her get used to it. She has adjusted very quickly and she
seems fearless. She also follows me around everywhere which is so funny
.shes
constantly by my side and always watching me
.shes actually
sleeping on my lap right now. Our business is based out of an apartment
that we have over one of our garages here at the house, so I got a litter
box, food bowls, scratch post and toys for her to play with in the office.
She seems very happy here and we are very happy to have her. I wanted
you to know that she is very much loved and has found a good home.
I also wanted to thank you for the method in which you shipped her. Its
obvious that you put a lot of care and consideration into the kittens
that you sell. The carrier was so nicely put together with its water bowl
attached inside and a little bag of kitten food. I was so tickled to find
that you had printed out stickers that said my name and Hayleys
name and you placed them on the carrier
what a cute extra touch.
Jeannie, we really do LOVE her
.she is such a good companion. She
has been sleeping between us at night and last night she discovered that
she can actually sleep UNDER the comforter. She got under the comforter
and was making the funny noises while she was running around looking for
a good spot to lie down. She finally ended up walking back up towards
us and just popper her head out enough so that she could see us and she
slept that way ALL NIGHT. It was so cute! She looked like she was fighting
to keep her eyes open just so she could watch us, she doesn'tt seem
to like to miss a trick. Now, the little bugger has started doing something
new the last couple of mornings which is
.she likes to wake
me up anywhere from 4:30 5:30am. She just sits on my chest and
licks my face over and over and makes these little talking noises in between
which translates to me as ITS TIME TO WAKE UP SO YOU CAN PLAY WITH
ME AND IF YOU DONT WAKE UP IM GOING TO KEEP DOING THIS. So
you can imagine by now that Im a bit tired because Ive had
no other choice but to wake up.
I believe you put Aqua on the papers and I think Im going to leave
it that way. You know whats strange, since she has been with us;
her eyes have (for a lack of a better way to describe it) seem to constantly
change colors????? They look as if theyre a solid blue color, then
later they look as if theyre green and then they look like theyre
aqua. Its the strangest thing but it is soooooooo cool to see her
eyes look different colors!
Jeannie, honestly, you have really got it together with this Devon Rex
breeding that youre doing. I am so glad that I bought little Hayley
from you. Dealing with you isnt like just buying a cat from a breeder
and then thats it. Its a very pleasant and exciting experience!!
Youre web site is great, you constantly keep in contact with your
customers through e-mail
sending updates on our kitten and pictures
of her too!! When you get a kitten from you EVERYTHING is taken care of,
spaying, vet, shots
.everything!!! And the extra touches on the carrier
that you ship her in is fantastic!! This was very exciting for me!!! I
love my kitty, thank you SO MUCH for her!!
Thanks, Stacy |
HI,
I HOPE YOU ARE ENJOYING THE HOLIDAY SEASON? WE ARE SO HAPPY WITH OUR

| Hi Jeannie – I’ll have some Christmas
pictures of Haley to send you shortly. Haley has being doing just great…….she
is such an awesome cat and we just love her. She still comes up to work
with us everyday and she really looks forward to it. When I get up in
the morning I ask her if she wants to go to work and she runs around like
a nut. Every single night she sleeps on my chest right under my chin and
she goes with me EVERYWHERE. This kitty is just getting more and more
beautiful everyday, she has the greatest personality and is just so friendly……..she
loves everybody. The UPS and Fed ex guys bring her treats almost all the
time and everyone in work showers her with gifts. Our offices look more
like a kitty play gym then an office with all the stuff we have in here.
Anyway, I wanted to look into getting her started in cat shows because
she is so great that I think she would win and because she’s so
social I think she would love it. She even likes going in the car!!!!
Can you believe that? I take her for a ride about 3 times a week and she
gets so excited. Do you have any suggestions or information on how I can
get started with showing her?
Thanks again for such a great kitty.
Stacy

| Jeannie-
Just thought you'd like an update on Stripe. He is doing fabulously.
He had his first visit to our Vet and came through with flying colors.
He made a terrific hit there. Everyone, from the tech's to the Vet himself,
told us we were very lucky, that we had a wonderful kitty!! He is so full
of personality! He has his clown around moments and his quiet cuddle moments
and we love them all! He is extremely tolerant of the kids, who fight
over him constantly!
Thank you, thank you, thank you for this wonderful addition to our family.
We can tell he was raised with a lot of love, cause he gives it to us
daily!
Hope all is well.
Debbi |
Hi Jeannie,
It's almost been a year since Miette has been part of our family - and
I
just have to tell you, she is amazing! We are entering a video of her
in
Pet Stars. She loves to learn, and she does a variety of tricks - like
turning around, sitting up, rolling over (all on command), spinning a
pinwheel, walking on a ball with her front feet. She will do tricks in
front of people who come to our house because she's a little ham. I want
to
contact a trainer for some ideas because she's so teachable and loves
to
expand her skills.
I don't know if she is typical of Devon Rex's or unusual - but I think
we
got the best one! Just wanted to update you. We love her like a child.
Take care.
Denise |
Hi Jeannie-
Bucky is doing well... slept all night with us... very cute! Thank you again
for dropping him by, we are so happy to have him! When he can't see us he
will meow, it is cute.
I'll keep you updated on him!
Angela |
| Hey Jeannie!
She arrived safe and well! She is already spoiled and very happy. We
weren't too original with the name. We named her Devon. She was really
geared up her first night wanting to know the whole layout of the house
in which there are 16 rooms. She is now more settled in and is still sleeping
. We are already in love with her. Thanks for everything!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Chris |
Jeannie-
Yesterday was Stripe's 1st birthday so we thought you might like an
update. He is doing very well and has become a much loved member of
the family.
He loves dry food, and pounce chicken flavored treats. He has his grown
up coat now. He loves to lay in the sun by the windows and doors, chases
bugs on the storm door and cuddles under the blankets with the kids!
He cries every morning until we pay attention to him, then purrs with
his trademark motorboat purr. His is still the first to get a kiss hello
in the morning from the kids and the last to get a good night kiss.
James (my son) has assumed responsibility for feeding him and Caity
(my daughter) has assumed responsibility for keeping him clean (he loves
baths)! I was given the elegant responsibility of his litter box, lucky
me!
We can't thank you enough for this bundle of joy you've allowed us
to raise! He is just terrific and everybody loves him (even avowed cat
haters claim he's "different from other cats)! Stripe is just wonderful
and we love him lots! I am enclosing some pics so you can see how big
he's gotten.

| Jeannie:
Kitty is adjusting just fine. He is
currently spazzing and running around like crazy. He
meows, I say "what?" and he comes running. He slept
curled up with me last night. I am smitten!
Thank
you!

Hi Jeannie! I just wanted to drop you a quick note
updating you on Chile. He has been here for 3 months
and that 2 pound kitten you sent me is now more that 5
and a half pounds. His hair is coming in, and he is
getting a beautiful curly coat. And while he isn't
very coordinated, he is super active, and we play all
the time. He loves to travel to others houses, and he
is in love with every cat he sees, but can do without
dogs or my goldfish. I think I may have to get
another kitten in the future....because I cannot say
no to this cat.
Anyway, he is well loved by everyone that meets him,
and I completely adore him. I cannot remember life
before.

| Hi Jeannie,
I wanted to let you know how Annie is doing. She is soooo awesome! She
is laying on me purring away as I type this. She did so well on the trip
home. I don’t think she has hardly stopped purring since we got
her!
Peppy, our other Devon was not too happy at first. He hissed, growled
and swatted at us for a few days. We kept them separated until Sunday.
When we introduced them again he did much better. Now they are playing
and licking each other. I think they will really love each other.
Annie is such a little sweetheart; you can tell she has come from a home
with a lot of love and attention. She is so well socialized.
She is already fetching her little mice and bringing them back. The other
night we did this for an hour straight! We have hardwood floors, so she
loves sliding around!
Thanks for breeding such wonderful cats!

| Hi Jeannie,
I wanted to take a minute to let you know how wonderfully Skinny Minney
(new name!) has become a member of our family. We all just love her to
pieces. She is outgoing, a real in your face kitty just like we wanted.
She sleeps either with my daughter or my husband and myself. When I am
working in my office she is all over my desk, pushing buttons on the fax
and my laptop. She is getting to know our other cat at her own speed.
They now can sit several feet apart, but if the other kitty gets too close
Skinny Minney arches her back and hisses. She is not shy and has no self
esteem issues. You raised her well!
Thank you so much, we adore her.
We absolutely LOVE our Skinny! She is the most interactive, loving, and
entertaining kitten we have ever known, far exceeding our expectations.
Thanks!

Hi Jeannie—I just wanted to let you know that
Aidan is doing well. He has managed to find every errant cobweb in my
house, no small feat in the house of the woman who dusts her dashboard.
I’ve attached a couple of pictures of his first days, more will
follow as he grows. He’s been to the office with me several times
and his flame point has been accentuated by the lipstick applied to his
head by my colleagues who just couldn’t resist giving him a smooch.
Thank you so much!
Gerrie |
Hi Jeannie!
I keep going back to see my boy but he's gone now (smile) thank you for
letting everyone know he's sold. Did you keep the other one? Kimberly Hefner
loves the idea of a flame point but she can wait until you have your next
group. Today I've emailed your site to 3 other friends who adore cats and
wanted to see the site so hopefully one might be in touch. I love the blue
Sphynx kitty you have left, so cute! Every time I go on your site I learn
something new now I think I've click on every possible link you have there.
Imhotep will never go out side, none of my have ever been outside once I
got them but there are some homeless that I feed that like to come around
and my babies watch them from their window seats. And, I clean my boxes
2 times a day too, am a clean freak. My boyfriend calls me Felix form the
Odd Couple.
I love the picture of you on your horse and on the bike. You guys sound
like a lot of fun and if you ever get to LA I'd love to show you the PB
Mansion, if the timing is right. I use to have an Appaloosa Horse names
Cherokee and kept him at the old Roy Rogers estate. I miss him but it was
a lot of work and a long way to drive to ride him. I have wonderful pictures
of he and I.
If you get a chance please visit my web site: www.barbaraleigh.com
Okay, I'll go back to dreaming of my Imhotep and thanks again for updating
me with pictures when you're able.
Take care,
Barbara |
Dear Jeannie,
The boys arrived safely and Imhotep is EVERYTHING I wanted and MORE! He's
is the sweetest thing on earth. He knows his name and comes when I call
him, if he's exploring. Last night or I should say this morning around 4:00am,
he started suckling my neck and doing big feet (ha) and I didn't want to
discourage him as he was bonding to me, so I think he likes me too. He's
very smart, looks me right in the eye and puts his paw up to touch my face.
Well, you can see by this morning I was more in love then I thought possible
(ha). And, he's won over all my friends too.
Jacob is also wonderful and apparently he did the same bonding thing
with Sheridan. He is very sweet and was content to stay in Sheridan's
lap most of the entire day at the shower. She was holding him in her baby
blanket her grandmother made for her, it was really darling. Jake and
Imhotep when they got together kind of growled and weren't really interesting
in being together, it seemed to me that both were happy where they went...yeah
for us! They played for a moment but lost interest.
Imhotep plays a lot and is curious about everything. When my cats whom,
are going through their normal, who are you and why are you here routine,
he'll run to me for protection. And, when my girlfriend tried petting
him he smelled her hand and knew it wasn't me I went to the other side
of the bed and said, here I am, and he bolted to me rubbing against my
hand. She bought Imhotep for his shower, a catnip padded blanket he was
having a ball. He got all kinds of great things, one is a beautiful blue
blanket with his name knitted in it, amazing, and a kitten couch, silver
picture, toys, boxes, cat nappers and so on... We took lot's of pictures
and when Gloria Wolper gives me some I'll scan them and email them. I
had problems with my camera but Gloria loves making pictures. She'd already
done all of Imhotep's and had his latest one framed in the silver frame
8x10. Wait till you see the cake she did of him, it is the picture on
his invites, IT'S AMAZING! I can't bare to cut it and am taking it into
the office on Tuesday.
Kimberly and Marston Hefner came by the shower it was overwhelming, Gloria
knows how to make a party special. Marston loved both kittens and is thinking
on a black. He's been allergic to cats in the past. He's so well mannered
and watch football with David Wolper, he was impressed. Kim left me the
most wonderful message about the shower, my friends and how she loved
Imhotep. He does has so much personality.
He sleeps right next to me but tonight his carrier is on the end of my
bed with his new blanket it in, incase he wants to goes inside that. I
notice China checking him out and Imhotep goes inside, so cute, they won't
follow, it's his space....he feels safe. I think from the first moment
we met we were in love. I talk to him a lot and he responds incredibly.
I'll write more later with pictures because I could go one for hours
on how wonderful he is and what a fantastic job you did of raising him
with love, both boys are a joy...THANK YOU A MILLION TIMES.
I'm getting pictures form Gloria on Monday then I'm write and send you
some.
You're the best and MOVIELAND is TOO!
Love,
Barbara and Imhotep

Dear Jeannie,
Well, Stripe is 2 years old now and an integral part of our family. Everyone
that meets him loves him instantly. He is so very friendly and tolerant.
He meows if he is closed out of a room, he doesn't like to miss anything.
His favorite place to nap is my daughters bed, in the middle of about 50
stuffed animals. The kids love him, I love him and he loves us back!!! Thank
you, thank you thank you for this wonderful kitty!
Best Regards,
Debbi |
HI Jeannie,
I am so enchanted by this little sweetheart thank you again for raising
such good kittens and me finding you on the internet. This little cat has
brought so much more love to my life. SHE IS SO SMART! She will be in a
good home always.
Sincerely,
Marissa |
| Jeannie, you were right; he waited to use the litter
box until he was ready. Looks like everything is right on schedule. The
sweater doesn’t seem to be a problem.
I don’t know how you handled all nine of these guys. When he’s
not snuggling, he’s a crazy guy! He’s extended his comfort
zone to include the whole house now. The stairs were a little imitating
at first, but are no problem now.
We made the bed together today and had a great time! We are really enjoying
him. He is the center of attention here and seems to love every minute
of it. He loves to sit on Robert’s shoulder while he’s working
at the computer or while he’s watching TV. He gives everyone lots
of kisses and purrs non-stop.
Thanks again for the wonderful new addition to our family.

| Hi Jeannie, Well, Daisy and I spent our first night
together. I woke up with her sleeping on top of my head. I reach up and
felt that little fur thing. Like I was wearing a hat lying down. God,
is she ever cute. Great personality. Purrs all the time. After she went
potty last night when we got home, I gave her a half of a small can of
Nutro max kitten canned food , the chicken and liver flavor. She started
eating it right away and this morning it was all gone so I gave her more
this morning. I'm so happy with her. Thank you so much. I was telling
my husband this morning that the Robins have not come back yet so we have
more cold weather coming. The Crocuses aren't out yet either. Come on
Spring.
Love, Lil Herbstritt |
| Hi Jeannie!
It's been awhile since I've written and wanted to let you know how much
I am
enjoying my kitten. Nico is growing like a weed! She and Uma are inseparable
and really seem to enjoy each other's company. I have a hard time explaining
the Devon Rex personality to people that have never been around one but
it
is really something else! Nico reminds me of a dog in so many ways-she
fetches, when I'm not looking she'll eat ANYTHING from my plate (and I
mean
ANYTHING from wasabi to refried beans to tomatoes), & she's very curious
&
"in your face" while being respectful (if I'm eating she sits
patiently
above me on the couch instead of begging-I really don't give her people
food
intentionally). She is my loyal little alarm clock-cleaning my face and
sitting on my head until I get up to feed her M-F (for some reason she
lets
me sleep just a bit longer on the weekends).
Best regards,
Allison Carr

| Jeannie,
I just had to send you this picture. Harrison turned out to be a beautiful
boy.
He is MY BABY !! He sleeps under the covers with me every night, he runs
down the stairs and greets me at the door whenever I come home, and during
the day while I'm working at my mothers shop, I need to stop what I'm
doing just to go home and get my kitty kisses. Then half the time he ends
up going back to the shop with me.
Love him, love him, love him, I just can't explain how much.
My husband knows that if it were between him or the cat,
that Harrison and I would be very happy.
Just keeping you posted,
Deb

Dear Jeannie
Today is Jake's birthday and we just wanted
to send you an email to tell you how much we love Jake
and Chad both and how much fun they have together. We
are so glad we chose Devon Rex kitties and they are
the most playful and cuddly and loving and both of
them are everything someone could want in a cat. Hope
you are doing well!

Padme` is still sleeping with the girls. I haven't had a chance to see
her really. She has been carted around like a queen. I don't think her
feet have touched the ground but to potty and eat. :)
We love her to death already. It's like we knew her, and that she has
been with us all this time.

Hi Jeannie,
Zissou is PERFECT!! He's just what I'd hoped he'd be. His ears are awesome
and so's his head. But of course beyond all of that he's a dear little
man. He slept with me under the covers last night. Such a warm sausage
body... He's at home today snuggling with Mark. That helps too, that he
makes points with the other "dominant" male in the house.
Thank you so much for him. He'll be treasured and pampered and shown and
loved forever. I got his papers today in the mail from CFA too. We'll
all set. You were great to work with. Thanks for being patient with me
in the beginning when I was struggling to pick out the best boy for my
program. GInger said to me yesterday "Well it looks like you won't
have ear problems anymore." Yea!!
I'll send pics soon. He's in perfect health too. I would be happy to give
you a good reference for any other breeder wanting to buy/work with you
in the future. I'm a very satisfied customer.
Take care and have a great day!
Tracy |
Hi Jeannie,
I can't believe we've only had Zissou now for 2 weeks. I can't imagine
our home without him. He fits in so well. He thinks he's one of the kittens
here but on steroids. He's bigger than they are, but loves playing with
them. I have the best pic of him with a couple of them piled on top of
him. It looks like he's saying "Oh for god's sake, I give up!"
He's super sweet. When I look at him he starts purring. He's happy and
enjoying the chaos of our household. My son loves him too. Z likes routine,
as do all kids :) and likes coming into Aidan's bed at night to listen
to Harry Potter. He's such a great cat Jeannie. Thanks so much for him.
Here are a couple of pics. It IS hard to get him to hold still, I see
what you mean now. I'm so used to having my husband help me with pics,
but he's on a boat working outside Kodiak. We'll take more when he gets
back.
Best to you and Cindy!!
Tracy |
| Hi Jeannie & Cindy,
I wanted to thank you again for driving from Centralia to drop Coco off.
He was shy for a couple of hours. But after that, he made himself quite
at home. He's quite taken with the feather toy I got him. And he's gotten
aquatinted with his Cat tree. I've never had a kitten before. It's like
he's on turbo speed. He makes Fred, my loveable old kitty that my ex-husband
has seem like a turtle. But I still love that turtle dearly. I came home
during my lunch break to check in with Coco and see how he's doing. And
he was doing just fine. He's sitting on my lap right now as I type this,
but that's only because I won't let him walk on my laptop keyboard.
--Caroline |
I just wanted to tell you how HAPPY I am with Felix!
He is the most precious kitty I have ever seen! I think that he likes his
new home.
He is jumping around and running under beds! :-) He also went potty in the
litter box! Thanks again! I will send a picture very soon! :-) Have a great
afternoon. I was so nice to meet you and your sister.

Hello Jeannie,
Well, Here is Bongo! Yep, Can you believe it? Bongo is beautiful and very,
very spoiled. He is cuter than when we first brought him home. Not saying
he wasn't cute then. He has developed some very interesting and funny traits!
Loves playing on the steps, rolls off one to the other like a slinky. He
is Crazy, Crazy!
He is definitely a Mama's Boy!
Take care,
Robert & Tracy |
| Jeannie,
We’re having such fun with Charmagne. I could hardly bear to go
to work this morning because she was responding to my voice and following
me around, and by the time I got home my husband was totally in love with
her. She is so gentle when she plays, and so very affectionate and much
smarter I think than the average cat. She doesn’t want to be held,
but she wants to be close to me. She tried to walk up my legs, but not
like most kittens who would climb right up with their claws. She already
knows to keep her claws in. I’m so in love with her warm little
body and long tail, and her little squeak. It’s difficult to get
anything else done.
As I write this, Charmagne and Ken are sleeping together. She was roaming
around under the covers the last I knew, and he was tickled pink about
that. I fell asleep in front of the computer and woke up to finish this.
So off I go. . .
Love, Dianne

| Jeannie:
Our new kitten is an absolute love. We could not be happier. At first
we were a bit worried because the poor little thing would not drink, eat
or go to the bathroom for about 24 hours. She was truly missing her mom,
her litter and you. That told us what wonderful care and love you had
given her. Now our kitten has blossomed and she is extremely attached
to my wife. She (the kitten) wants to be with her (my wife), on her, next
to her etc. all the time and Judith is having the time of her life. All
of a sudden being 50 didn’t matter so much anymore. That was the
intent and it worked better that could be expected.
This e-mail is hard to write because “Gilda” (as in the late
Gilda Radner of Saturday Night Live) keeps jumping up and landing on the
keys. I guess she wants to say “Hello” in her own way too.
I know she loves you because of the warm and affectionate way she is with
all humans and you were the first teacher.
Our best to you,
Peter and Judith |
| Hi Jeannie,
I wanted to report to you that (and I really have to
get some kind of camera and take some pics of him)
Coco is a very healthy 6.5 pounds. His fur is now
rumply and wavy and so cute. He is very talkative but
pretends to be shy when meeting people he doesn't
know. Once he sees them a few times, he's his usual
loud & obnoxious self. (Sometimes it even sounds like
he's saying words such as Hello, Mamma, Mommy and Oh
no!) He still likes to sit w/me while I take a
shower (between the curtain and the liner). He paws
the liner while I bathe. And sometimes he even jumps
down into the tub (with the liner for protection).
I could tell that you love love love your kitties, and
from that I take it that you love animals.
Take care,
Caroline

| Morning Jeannie!
We survived the first night with India! She was such a riot. She hardly
slept all night because she was too busy playing, purring the whole while.
Nothing stops her, she's such a live-wire.
I'd figured I'd have to feed her entirely separately from Charmagne so
she'd get some, since Charmagne never lets anyone else eat when she's
around. Not so! India pushed her little head right in there and pushed
Charmagne out. They're true sisters. It was so funny to see those little
black heads pushing each other out of the food bowl.
Charmagne is exhausted from staying up all night. I don't know when India
will sleep. She hasn't been a bit shy here with anyone or anything, as
Charmagne was at first. Perhaps she's just hyper getting used to all the
new places to explore.
Hope everything went well for you and Imhotep and Isis, Barbara! Looking
forward to those pictures! Jeannie, have a safe trip home.
Love to you!!
Dianne
|
Dear Jeannie,
Where do I begin? Isis is the sweetest MOST loving baby girl and both Imhotep
and me are madly in love with her. She's more loving with her kisses then
Imhotep and loves being held and touched. She adores Imhotep as much, although
from the pictures you might think he's killing her, she licks him every
chance she gets and follows him around, when he's not pinning her down (smile)
that is. They bonded immediately - best friends already. And this morning
Imhotep finally allowed me to cuddle him, now that he knows Isis is Imhotep's
girl (ha). She is SO smart and both she and Simba knew their names, if not
before we got them, only after a few times saying their names. No matter
where Isis is, if I call her she comes running, and Jess says Simba does
the same.
Thank you for sending them in time for Gloria Wolper's party, we were surprised
at how tiny they are (pictures make them look so much bigger then they are),
and delighted to have them as soon as we do. I know Gloria has something
planned as a surprise for them and we'll ALL be sure to take lot's of pictures
at the party. Of course knowing Jessica loves Simba as she does, that made
Gloria feel wonderful, she also feel like a Godmother to Isis. Jessica has
not been able to leave her house, she can't bare to leave her Simba. He
wants to be on top of her the whole time, it's darling how they bonded after
she spoke his name and he licked her fingers and that was it...they were
in love another member to her family. She's more then impressed with the
Devon Rex breed. And, though I've told her, and she adores Imhotep, until
you live with one you can't imagine all that people say is true about a
DR until you own one.
Simba is so much like Imhotep, he's fearless and doesn't meet a stranger...not
that Isis does either but she is a little calmer. He flew with confidence,
she was shaking a bit when I picked her up but since Jess drove I had time
to bond with her holding her all the way home and once we got home she was
already happy to be with me. It's LOVE ALL THE WAY AROUND! And, hearing
from Dianne she too is trilled with her India. Seems Ken has taken to her
and India and Charmagne are also in love - sisters - soo sweet. Devon Rex's
DO love other Devon Rex's...Isis completely ignores China, although this
morning she was sleeping on one of the dining room chairs with Maya and
Ashley, that was a good thing. But it's Imhotep who will be her friend,
they're mates for life. I'm glad I got her and now wonder if it should have
been sooner.
I've been taking so many pictures my camera is hot (he he) but it's fun
to have the time to spend with them and shoot them in the moment, got to
be quick - they are. Now I have another friend to talk DR talk with, makes
it so much fun to share my joy with another friend.
Thank you a trillion times for choosing both Imhotep and Isis for me. I
can't imagine life without out them. And now Isis has joined Imhotep's and
my adventure, we all three thank you forever.
More pictures of my babies and many to come for years and years.
We love you Jeannie!
Barbara, Imhotep and Isis xo..
PS: I made sweaters for Isis and Simba, Isis is wearing hers in the pictures. |
Dear Jeannie,
I just adore Simba and want you to know what a wonderful gift I think he
is! Simba is the greatest! We bonded right away, he even licked my finger
thru the bars of the carrier. He is so loving and smart - he came when I
called him the first time (you must have begun calling him Simba). I can
do anything with him, and so can Barbara - he's so trusting. He won't leave
my side. I have indulged him for the last 2.5 days but tomorrow, it's back
to work and then he'll face my other 2 alone. I think he'll be okay with
Buddha, my 12 year old Himalayan, as they have slept on either side of me.
Tallulah, my 7 year old calico, will be more of a challenge. I'm sure Simba
is up for it, and how can anyone not love him!
Thank you for sending all the pictures to Gloria and Barbara for his baby
book. He is at the moment laying on my lap stretched out on his back with
his paws reaching for the keyboard. He sends his love. He thanks you too
for being his first human mommy and giving him such a good start!
Guess I'd better go, he's rather demanding right now. Barbara is sending
a couple pictures and will send more from the party next week.
All the best to you,
Jessica and Simba St. John |
Hi Jeannie,
We want to thank you again for the kitten. We finally came up with a name
for her Cinder. We sure are enjoying her. She is a loving and affectionate
kitty with quiet a motor to her. We can tell she came from a very caring
environment.
Thanks again,
Robynne |
Hi, Jeannie!
I just wanted to give you an update. Smudge is doing so well! We love her
so much and she loves us! She has exceeded my expectations in every way!
She has the sweetest personality! Right now I'm working on trying to get
her to NOT sleep under the covers with me! She's not going for it, though!
Anyway, here are a few pictures for you! Thank you so much for Smudge! She
is an absolute blessing!
Merry Christmas!
Andrea and Family |
Jeannie,
Thank you so much for our new little furry friends. We are enjoying them
so much. They are adjusting well and we just can't hardly get anything done
because we are either playing with them or watching them play or we are
all curled up together taking a nap. It's great fun. Pictures will follow
soon.
Thanks,
Carolynn |
Good Morning,
I am so enjoying my 2 babies. I never know what they think will be fun,
it is always interesting. I tried to take a picture of them helping me make
the bed, but of course they posed for the camera instead. They think their
job is to jump on the sheets and blankets as I try to put them on the bed.
They seem to know when I am making the bed and come to help. I tried to
sneak and get it done before they come, but with those ears, they know the
minute I start working. They are great travelers. They enjoy time in the
motor home and have their favorite places to sleep while we are on the road.
When parked, I always know when someone is coming to the door as they let
me know. For Christmas I took them to Idaho in my car. They didn't mind
the trip, which I broke up into 2 days. They enjoyed exploring a new house
and playing with my daughter's cat. They also like motels, exploring every
corner. They are perfect for my life style. Thank you for raising such delightful
companion animals.
Linnet |
Hi, Jeannie!
I just thought I would email you with an update on Smudge! But really, what
can I say other than how great she is? We just couldn't love her more if
we tried! (My 4 year old and I already want another one! Ha!) Her latest
"escapade" is taking Q-tips out of the bathrooms to play with!
I keep finding Q-tips all over the house! Crazy cat! Ha! And, as you can
see from the pictures, she is definitely into everything! I got her a cuddly
blanket for Christmas, which she LOVES! She sleeps all curled up in it on
a chair in our room! Sometimes I'm even able to coax her out of our bed
at night! Ha! I still feed her 1/4 of a can of Fancy Feast every morning
because she just loves it so much! I can't bring myself to stop giving it
to her! She starts purring before I even set it down! I can't thank you
enough for this blessing that is the newest member of our family! Enjoy
the pictures!
Hope all is well with you!

| Hi Jeannie,
Toby is almost 5 1/2 months and weighs around 5 lbs..He is lively and
playful (sometimes with a devilish streak) but sweet and affectionate,
too. He is so smart...knows his name, comes when I call him,and has learned
to fetch. I've never had a cat that could do that ! His favorite toy is
a small rubber ring about 1 1/2" in diameter. I throw it, it bounces
around, he retrieves it and returns it to me.We can play this about 25
times before he tires of it.
He is such a joy and a wonderful companion.

| Hi Jeannie,
We’re home safe. It was a long day for Sage but she was very brave.
She slept on the airplane but complained whil2e in the cage7u8 waiting
for the flight (as you can see she likes the computer keyboard).
She warmed up to us just a few minutes after we got in the carttttttttttttttttttttttttttttthhhhhheeeee33333333b
and has been a love ever since. She’s pretty good at letting us
know what she wants with her temper tantrums.
I was writing because I was worried about how much food to give her because
she wasn’t really eating the Iams, but now that I’m writing
you she’s munching away so I think we’ve got that down too.5555555555555553
‘’3ppppppppppp.
She actually insisted on sleeping with us last night which terrified
me. We set her up between our two pillows so there was no chance of squishing
her. She’s very diplomatic as she snuggled with me half the night
and with my husband the rest of the night.
Please tell your sister that our last cat, Natalia, was with us for 19
years before she passed away in November. We’ll take great care
of Sage, who right now is sleeping tucked into a makeshift pocket of my
sweatshirt. She’s wearing her new pink sweater sock and is staying
nice and warm.
Jeannie we thank you very much for Sage. She’s more wonderful that
we could have imagined, and very very beautiful.

Hi, Jeannie!
Elvis is about to experience one of the midwest's
infamous spring snowstorms. Kansas/Nebraska have
received up to 12-15" of snow in certain sections
today and it's barreling down on us. We are supposed
to get 7-8" complete w/ high winds. My work has no
excused missed days, so I'll try as best I can to make
it the thirty miles north in the morning. All the
county and state snow plows are ready and rarin' to
tackle the situation, thankfully. Elvis will wonder
what in the world happened to the front yard vista he
monitors from the dining room(ahem)table.
We are just about set to curl up and watch a movie.
He usually crawls between the two afghans I cover up
with and is snug as a bug. I think I told Allie about
watching the movie, Unconditional Love, starring Kathy
Bates. Elvis was sitting on my lap, purring, turned
away from the tv when one of the characters started
singing an E. Presley song. Our Elvis froze, then
pivoted toward the tv. There was no doubt he
recognized it. Wow!
The next day I searched through the golden oldies at
our local "dollar store" until I found a couple of
tapes with E Presley and his musical peers performing
live...They aren't the best recordings but appreciated
by E and I, nonetheless.
Oh! He still knows how to fold laundry! What a fine
time he had sorting it all out. I had no idea the task
could be so much fun. Well, at least I hadn't thought
of it in those terms for a very long time... :)
He's galloping from one end of the house to the
other presently. :) Has been in the kitchen batting
about the pink satin mouse w/ catnip cologne! He seems
to be doing fine w/ the Iams adult(mature?)diet
formula
food. I still have the little bag of food Allie had
for him on the journey and add a few pieces as a treat
every so often. He definitely considers it a delicacy
as he picks each one out separately prior to digging
into his regular meal. (I like eating dessert first
now and again, as well. . .it's kind of liberating! :)
Had better get this wrapped up. Just wanted to
update you on our little Wonder Cat and let you know
he is settling in and doing a grand job of taking care
of me!
Fondly,
Sherry P (Allie C's mom)
Plus, a little
more from Sherry (forwarded on to me from Allie) about how Elvis is doing:
I took him to the vet last weekend. I love Dr. Peters!
He's perfect. It's calving season and he's been very
busy and is ever on-call. He was dressed in his
coveralls, ready to head out on a moment's notice. .
yet was gentle and personable. I thought he was a
farmer in the waiting room until he said, "So this is
Elvis?" and then, "Do I call you Sharon or Sherry?"
Now that's a rare greeting for a country vet, I think.
He called his partner in to feel Elvis's coat and they
both agreed it was just as soft as the net site had
said it would be! Yep,
their first Devon Rex experience.
He personally took the copies of medical info and the
picture I'd printed for his files to the receptionist
and wanted her to be sure to include the pic in the
new file on Elvis. He was appreciative of the medical
history and when done checking him over, said, "Shall
we put your sweater back on, big fella?" and gently
bundled him up and put him back in his carrier. Now, I
know that kind of attention isn't out of the ordinary
for you and your wonderful city small animal vets.
..but this guy's in the middle of no-nonsense rural
America . .where farming is big business and the
attention is mostly paid to livestock that goes to
market.. ....It was quite a revelation...the entire visit to Dr
Peters...and, Jeff, his partner is Dr. Mekus! I am
absolutely confident they will take great care of
Elvis. Doc Peters has already reminded me about the
shot(s) E. needs in May (was impressed w/ the
immunization form)...Oh! He cleaned E's ears...put in
some drops, gently massaged the ears from the outside
and then said, "stand back", where upon Elvis-powered
centrifugal force took care of the wax/etc. He took a
q-tip and carefully cleaned the rest.
Allie, I tried chasing around w/ Elvis as you did, and he just stared
at me with an are-for-real? expression!
He has my entrance routine down pat. Through the
laundry room, into the kitchen to drop my stuff and
hang up my coat and into the bathroom, then back to
the kitchen. He actually led the way when I got home
Monday!..Oh, and he brought me his catnip mouse one
morning last week...jumped up on the bed and dropped
it a foot from my nose. Then started playing with
it...an alarm cat is this kitty. He sleeps, cuddled
next to me and watches movies with me.
Ok, over and out. xo

| Jeannie,
Here are some pictures of Obi. She has become such a delight to me. Almost
always makes me laugh. One of the pictures shows here playing with Grandma,
who likes to come over at least a couple times a week and play. She also
LOVES her tree. The pink play toy in the picture has already lost its
battle and no longer hangs from the tree.
She also likes to play games with mom. Mom picks up all of the toys and
then she proceeds to spread them all back out!! It is GREAT fun for her!!
Not so much fun for mom. I had also put a bell on her collar, so that
I would know where she was. But brilliant kitty that she is has figured
out if she dips in her water bowl that it dampens the sound and then she
can still sneak up on mom!! It is lots of fun, especially when mom is
studying or taking a nap!!
I can't thank you enough for entrusting her into my care!! I really don't
know what I would do without her. I can't wait until I also have Yoda
to love and play with also!!
Thanks!

| Jeannie,
Pixie wasted no time in adapting to her surroundings and has managed
to take over the house as well as our hearts. She’s got down the
basics, her food dish and her litter box. Her character is quite charming,
much like that of a dog. She loves attention and lets you know when she’s
lonely. For the love she’s given already Its the best purchase I
could have made.

| Jeannie -
I am in LOVE with Sophie!!! First of all, she is adorable and second
her personality is WONDERFUL! Here she is having traveled a very long
way, in a big scary plane, new smells, big kitties hissing at her... but
every time I touch her she begins to purr!!! She is wonderful! She is
not bothered by my adult kitties hissing at her. I put down some Fancy
Feast for her and Jayne and they scoffed it up in no time! :-) She is
just GREAT! Thank you soooooo much!
Sophie really is a cutie. She LOVES my 4 year old son. Rubs all over
him and PURRS!!!
As I am typing this she is sitting on my lap just purring away.
Ruth just left with Jayne. She loves her!
I just LOVE Sophie's personality. She is just GREAT!
Thanks so much!!!
Stephanie |
| Dear Jeannie,
What a long way for the little guys to travel., but I guess if there
aren’t too many changes of planes it isn’t that bad. Thanks
for sharing the other letters. That was fun.
Here are more photos from yesterday. Hope this isn’t more than
you’re interested in, but I am excited and enjoy sharing that!!
We had a great night last night. Elvis slept right next to my chest all
night as if he’d always belonged there. The girls slept next to
my body as they always do, and were only put out in the morning when they
usually join me under the covers for a bit before we get up. It was hissy
time then. I could see a lot of green shining from their halos. Charmagne
wasn’t too bad, but India was a real pill. She’s been the
“baby” for a long time now.
But after we got up and Elvis started running back and forth over the
floor, India was ready to play that game, so it’s going to work
out eventually. Elvis plays for awhile until he remembers that he doesn’t
know where I am, then starts meowing. When I talk to him he runs right
to me, and purrs up a storm while we cuddle. He takes a short nap on my
lap, and then runs and does the whole thing over again. What a doll!!
He looks like a cross between a lab rat and a Chihuahua right now, and
I love that look. I’ll bet he ends up with short hair with lots
of curly ridges, and a lean, muscular body. Basically, a lot like Simba,
only black. Simba is a beautiful animal. I got to see him last winter
one time when I met Jessica. Who is Simba’s father, by the way?
I never thought to ask.
And while I’m thinking of this, something to keep in mind for a
long way down the road. I was wondering if you’d consider saving
Barbara Leigh for me when she retires. By then, both my old girls will
be gone for sure, and I do love the gray DR’s a lot and think she’s
beautiful. We do want to get one more kitten, a whitish one with bluish
eyes from Zsa Zsa and Robert Redford. With Barbara Leigh that would make
a DR family of five, which is reasonable for our house size and the time
we have to love them, I think. Any time we’re traveling we’ll
have someone stay here to care for our pets, not board them somewhere.
Anyway, something to keep in mind for the future.
I hope your week is winding up well so that you can have a restful weekend.
Love, Dianne |
| Hi:
Just wanted to let you know I got Jayne papers today.
Thanks so much.
She is a wonderful kitten and has fell in love with my husband and me
if I am not home she is in Tim's lap and when I am here she runs back
and forth to each of us like she can't make up her mind as to whom she
wants .I love her color so much . Thank you so much I just can't tell
you how much it is hard to put in words but her and Wilson are the best.
Ruth |
| Hi Jeannie,
We received her papers (very interesting to see the lineage/family tree).
Thanks.
Also wanted to let you know that we are So pleased with Sabriana. She
has a fantastic, lovable personality & is so good with our daughter
& her friends (& us). Her purr is 5x larger than her size, she's
very playful & cuddly, and is adapting very well to her new home.
She is using her box & has a very healthy appetite. We absolutely
lover her! Thanks again.

Hi Jeannie,
I thought you might like to see a few pics of Julia...she is such a pretty
girl and so full of fun, we just love her to death! The first three show
her steeling treats!! We kept her treats on the shelf over the pc and
it didn't take her long to find them. My niece and sisters were visiting
and when we came home from dinner one night she came dragging her treats
to me from behind the couch...she'd gotten them down while we were gone.
I gave her a treat and put them back on the shelf...A little later that
night she came dragging them to me into the dining room where we were!
She certainly knows how to ask for a treat! The next one didn't turn out
as good as I'd have liked, but she's watching herself on the computer...
then (next 2) she's 'looking at' another of your cats (I really enjoyed
looking at your web site by the way!)The 7th is Julia and I after we'd
been playing with her balls, her paper sack (which she loves!) and a cardboard
'house'. I'd curled up with a book and she curled up with her blanket
on my lap...the last one I got a kick out of her sleeping on that quilt...she
was so unlady-like I just had to take a picture. One of these days I'll
get a really good one for you!

| Jeannie,
When Allie first saw her kitten, she decided to name her "Pippi Longstocking"
for her two front long white socks. Pippi is a joy and already flies around
the house like she owns the place. She showed Max, our golden retriever,
how things were going to work and after a few scratches on his nose, he
gets the picture. Her curls are coming in and she is growing up already.
The sunny, warm window sills and Allie's bed are her favorite hideouts.
Thanks again,
Geri |
Hi Jeannie,
I can't tell you how much Boo means to us.
She is 1 year old today.
Such is a little pill.
Only problem with her is she loves to steal things.
Jumps in the top drawer of my nite stand
goes into the 2nd drawer & runs off with my socks.
So for her B-Day she got a catnip sock toy.
Thank you again we love her.
I'll send you a picture later.
All my pictures are on the desk top.

Hi,
Violet is getting along great. Well, her name is Violet, but we all call
her "Kitty Girl." Her favorite thing to do is to curl up on my
chest and snuggle. Her next favorite thing to do is to sit beside my laptop
and watch me surf the internet! She loves with ALL her being! I think if
she were any bigger she could do serious damage. She is SO nosy and wants
to see what everyone is eating--to the point of almost sticking her head
in their mouths! She spends a lot of time in the cat tree, which is good,
because Stormie really has no use for it. Everyone loves her--well, Stormie
says "she's okay."
So I'm wondering how big you think she'll get to be and when will she reach
her adult size?
Chef Toni |
Well, we made it home fine last night. He went around
sniffing everything when he first got out of the carrier. He did eat soon
after so he must have been very hungry. Yes, he still had his pajamas on
- how cute!! I held him for a bit last night (he's still a bit skittish)
and saw how he puts his ears back when you scratch his head. He is really
a beautiful cat. Very petite! I had bought him a catnip stick which he really
loved. So everything going well now....I'll keep you updated and send some
pictures as he gets more comfortable!
Susan |
| Hi Jeannie,
I don't always get to my email right away so just now saw your note but
Barbara forwarded your site with the pictures the other day. You have
a great site and it was fun to see the party for the new arrivals - can
hardly believe it was nearly a year ago! How exciting for Simba to be
a cover boy - can't wait to see the new 2007 calendar. Simba is just wonderful
- he sends his love. He is a playboy - he loves to play and is a good
cuddler. I love him so much! He is very devoted to me, friendly to friends,
and he gets along beautifully with Tallulah, my 8 year old calico, and
Buddha, my 13 year old Himalayan. It was a perfect fit. I'll have to send
you some new pictures. So sorry to hear you have had such a tough time.
I hope you are feeling well now and that life is on the upswing.
All the best, Jessica

Hi Jeannie,
Eli is doing great! He is wonderful, just like you said he was. My parents
have seen him and think he is the most beautiful cat they have seen. He
loves to sit on my lap and plays quite a bit too! Sometimes he looks just
like a kitten when he is playing, it's hard to believe he is 4.
I just have a question - when he lived with you, what did he use to sharpen
his claws on? I want to get a cat scratcher, but it has to be something
he will use. I have a small one on the floor now that he hasn't touched
yet.....
I'll send some pictures when I get them.
Thanks!

Jeannie:
I thought I would send you a quick note
about Chile since he turns 3 this month. I can never say enough good things
about this cat. He
is the BEST animal I have ever known. He loves to
cuddle...but only in the mornings. He is a watcher.
And often you will look up from a book to see him
perched somewhere staring at you. He loves to play
tag, a game he made up on his own. And often I will
come around a corner and have him jump out and bat at
my leg and then run off. But his favorite thing is laundry. If a warm basket
comes in, he is in it. His favorite thing is to help
me change the sheets. It may take 3 times as long,
but the fun we have at the game makes it worth it. This cat has turned many
a cat hater into a Chile
lover. I attached some lousy pictures taken with my phone,
but it is the only thing handy when he is acting cute.
The one is him wrapped in my sheets and the other is
where he crawled into a sweatshirt that was on the bed
and made himself a little nest. Anyway, I just wanted you to know how happy
he is
here, and how happy I am to have him.

Jeannie-
Just wanted to send you an update on our Stripe. He is still much loved
and so very tolerant of the kids, especially Caity, who thinks of him as
her own personal doll! Here is a new picture of our 4 year old Stripe in
his Christmas finery. Thanks again for giving us such a wonderful kitty!
Caity says hi and loves to look at pictures on your website!

Hi, Jeannie - Happy New Year!
Here's a current photo of Mondo, in a rare quiet moment. He'll be 5 years
old in March, and he's still such a funny boy, a perpetual kitten. He keeps
us laughing with his antics. I still think he looks like a yellow version
of his dad, Elvis. Mondo's coat darkened as he matured. This time of year
when he had a fuller coat, it's more orange, and when it thins out in warm
weather it's a dark yellow. I'll send the photo to you as a file so that
it will be easier to edit.
I want to thank you, too, for the reminder for us all to keep our service
men and women in our hearts and prayers. Our son leaves for his second deployment
to the Persian Gulf this spring. I like to think that Americans, no matter
how they feel about the decisions our government has made over the past
few years, are still behind those serving our country.

Hey Jeannie, He is officially Movieland Louie Gomez-Leon.
I haven't gotten the
papers, but received the email notification.Louie is doing great. He's teaching
me how to play fetch. Apparently I'm not that good at it because he's giving
me lots of lessons on how
to play. He thinks I need alot of practice. He is not at all scared
of Jordie anymore. He spends most of his evenings teaching Jordie how
to be a kitten again. In the last picture you'll see one of Louie's
favorite things is sneaking up on poor, unsuspecting Jordie. Louie
and Jordie took a long afternoon nap together on my bed yesterday.Just thought
I'd give you a little update. Hope things are going good for you. Take care,
Laurel |
Hi Jeannie,
Just wanted to up-date you as to how Boo is doing.
She has grown into a very beautiful, playful companion.
Even though she is now 1 1/2 years old she is very much still a kitten.
Only problem we have with her is she likes to steal things.
Like socks, bath sponges, cell phones, blue tooth, I.D cards, anything in
general she can run off with.
Ramiro my son has taught her to play fetch she loves to play. They are very
attached to each other.
We moved to Florida this Summer, she flew with no problems.
Just had to thank you again for her. She is a joy to have around. Here are
a few pictures of her.
I hope you can see them.
Brenda & Ramiro D. |
| Jeannie,
Here's a few pictures of Louie with his new friends. He's doing
great. He's quite a little biter though when he plays with me. But
it's playful biting. He will play fetch with anything that he can
carry in his mouth for as long as I want to play. His hair is growing
in so beautiful. It seems to look different everyday. Just wanted to give
you a little update. Hope you and your family are doing well. Looks like
you've got lots of expecting mother's this
spring to keep you busy. Take care,
Laurel |
Winston & Ike are finally getting along very well.
I have taken some pictures but will have to send them later. I'm flying
to Texas Feb 21-28 to help my mom after her cancer surgery. You were right
about Ike holding his own with the older cats. I've kicknamed him Feisty
(like the Energizer bunny) because he kept going (and going) after Winston
to get him to play. It was tense for the first week but Winston finally
mellowed.
Emily |
| Jeannie,
We're just passed our 2 year anniversary with Bongo and I wanted to tell
you
how much joy he has brought to our lives. He is the most lovable little
guy! Well, not so little. He still loves to eat and has quite a tummy
on
him. I don't think he knows he's a cat. He really thinks he's one of us.
He likes to be in the middle of everything. This is his typical day
according to Bongo:
My typical day starts when the alarm clock goes off and I jump out of bed
with mom to wake my sister for school. Then it's time to remind mom that
I
need my breakfast. I like to eat first thing in the morning. After
breakfast it's play time until Mom leaves to take my sister to school. I
like to tease my mom by jumping at her as she walks by. We have hardwood
floors so I make a lot of noise when I run around the house. I don't care
too much for toys. But, give me a pencil, toilet paper roll, straw or a
strip of plastic from packaging and I have a blast! I have them hidden all
over the house. I also love to place fetch with my strips of plastic!
It's so much fun. I do it over and over. It's great exercise...I think I'm
actually losing a few pounds. I get a little tired from all that running
around so it's nap time. Dad is still in bed, so I like to snuggle in with
him while I wait for my mom to come back.
When mom comes home, I help her work in the office. I like to sit in
front
of her computer screen just to remind her that I'm her top priority. I
also
like to roll the pens and pencils off her desk. All this work makes me
sleepy, so I like to crawl up on my mom so she'll hold me. Sometimes she's
really busy and she puts me down, but I don't give up easily. If I continue
to climb up, she usually gives up before me.
Sometimes I get to go with Mom to pick up my sister after school. I like
to
ride in the car. I stand in the front seat with my back paws on the seat
and my front paws on the dashboard. I see a lot of people giving me a
double take. What...they've never seen a cat in a car before???
It's cold now so we light a fire in the evenings. Oh...I really love
that.
I lay on my back in front of it and spread my legs out so I can bask in
the
heat. This is even better than wrapping up in my favorite blanket.
I'm the prince in this house. I don't know what they would do without
me!!
Best Regards,
Bongo

| Hi Jeannie,
I saw that you are posting “before and after” shots of your
kittens. I must add a few for Chloe. She is a furry doll. One of the pictures
really shows off her fabulous fur.

Hello-
We received a devon rex from you in 2003, his name is Bucky and his parents
were Lilac Hill Elvis & Classy Touch Lucy Ball. The first picture is
the Christmas right after we got him and the 2nd picture is from mid-2006...
He has changed a lot from when we first got him!
I just thought that you might like to hear how he is doing...
Bucky is a very lively cat, he meows at us constantly if we do not pay him
enough attention. He did have a difficult time adjusting to a baby in August
of 2005, but has since grown to love him (and vice versa). I have never
seen a cat so gentle with a baby poking at him. Bucky loves to fetch, eat,
and sleep on his cat tree that looks out the window. He also loves to sleep
on our laps, if only we had more time to just sit down for him!
I hope you enjoy hearing about Bucky, I have always meant to email you with
updates, but unfortunately life has just been too busy and time has really
gotten away!
Thanks-

Hi Jeannie,
I just wanted to send you a note to let you know that Jello is thriving.
His hair is filling in and he's getting his big boy fangs. His favorite
game is fetch - is it a Devon thing to fetch?? He's charmed all of my friends.
Here are a couple of photos. The first one was taken the day he arrived
and the one fetching is the most recent.
Take care,

| Hi there,
I was going thru Violet's file to see when she needed her shots and I
found the contract I was supposed to sign and mail back to you. I
can't believe I forgot! Anyway, I've mailed it just so you can have
it for your records. As you can see, Violet is still VERY sweet and
we love her.

| Hey Jeannie:
This is Brian Wallace. I'm the guy who bought a little black and white
from
you a couple of months ago. His name is Murray, and here's a photo or
two
of him and his reluctant girlfriend, Phyllis. They're starting to get
along
a little better, but I have enlisted the help of some specialists to ease
the process. They've accurately assessed Murray as the perfect kitten
for
Phyllis; he's unusually mellow and sweet. Which brings me to the purpose
of
my note (aside from giving you a bit of an update): I have a friend who
is
extremely interested in getting a kitten or two from you some time in
the
near future. Her name is Karen and I can recommend her without
reservation as someone who'd provide a very comfortable and loving home
for
your kittens. She's actually kept Murray for me on a couple of occasions
(to give Phyllis a break) and has just generally been an enormous help
in
assisting with this whole situation. In any case, I'm passing your email
address along to her so you two can be in contact; I'm sure you'll have
a
bunch of questions for each other.
Hope all's well with you guys.
Thanks again for Murray. He's the best.

Yes it is a good morning, good to sleep in my own bed.
I was joking about potting on the floor.
My Grandaughter has to work Sat. and they had tickets to go to a Ron White
comedy show on Friday, long before I made plans for my trip. So no sense
in
staying overnight when I could be home.
My lawn is a foot deep, so will tackle it shortly.
It was nice to meet Dianne and Zsa Zsa's new owner. She helped with the
gas,
was very nice of her.
You did fly Cher down to me.
Had a nice drive home, picked up a bed load of rock for the garden wall
I
need to build.
Cher and Cleo are not as antagonistic toward each other as I have seen other
cats. A little hissing but no outright attacks. Cleo has taken over my lap
and Cher sits on the arm or back of the chair.
I've always thought of Cher as being a small cat but I swear Cleo is half
her size. I definitley need to get a little weight off Cher.}
Thank you so much for placing Cleo with me, she will make a wonderful
addition to our family. I'm glad I got to meet you.
Love to you also, Vicki

Dear Jeannie,
Just sitting here with Zsa Zsa. She is doing great.
She is eating and drinking well. She has been
exploring her new home and making us all fall in love
with her. We did put a collar with a bell on her, just
so we are more aware of her presence. She is so
stealthy. I can't get over how warm she is.
Thank you for trusting us with your treasure. We feel
truely blessed.
Helen
|
| Hi Jeannie,
Zsa Zsa is doing fine. She is getting used to her new
digs and people at her own regal pace. Some days she
can't get enough of us and some days she just "Vants
to be alone". This morning she was the most animated
I have ever seen. Her special place during the day is
on a Sesame Street sleeping bag in the laundry room.
We still keep her in one bedroom at night with
food, water and litter. One of her favorite haunts is
on the stairs.
Snowfire arrived on time and we got him 15 min after
the plane landed. Meeting his mom again has been
interesting. He bounded up to her, invaded her space
and got hissed at for his trouble. He is all over the
house and has even jumped onto the bird's cage
(something Zsa Zsa has not attempted) Needless to say
we have moved the bird. I see a period of adjustment
and amusement for our new family members. Let me
assure you that they are already greatly loved.
Thank you for your treasures.

| Hi!
Thought you might enjoy seeing a recent photo of my two Movieland kitties.
I got Fred (Fettucine Alfredo) and Val (Violetta Valery) in January 2002
(they were born Oct 3 & 4, 2001). I'm also including photos of them
as kittens (the day I brought them home), and also at age 6 months.
Photo details:
1. Fred and Val 12-29-051: This was taken 12-29-05 (just after Christmas
a couple of months ago) -- as you can see, they're gorgeous kitties. Valery
seems to be a sable smoke (as best as we can tell -- could be a chocolate
smoke), and Fred is a cream point. He's still not the brightest bulb in
the markee, but he's extremely affectionate, loves to play "fetch,"
and he's VERY vocal! Valery is still a bit stand-offish (although she
loves to sit next to me when I'm on the computer), rather "prissy"
and "above it all," with no patience for Fred's hyperactivity.
She's hysterically funny, because you can just see her gradually getting
fed up and then BAM! she lets him have it. They play well together (still!),
and usually sleep with me (sometimes under the covers).
2. Two new kitties 01-01-02: this was taken the day I brought them home
-- two little cuties!
3. Fred-and-val and Fred-big: these were taken when they were 6 months
old, in April 2002. Fred's eyes are *still* that blue!
Anyway, I couldn't imagine life without these two.

Hi, Jeannie!
I'll be able to send the photos again (plus a couple of new ones) --
I'm in the middle of moving from my old laptop to a new Macbook, and it'll
take me a few more days to get everything transferred over. I'll try to
get you the pics sometime next week.
The kitties and I have just moved to Bellingham -- I'm starting graduate
school this month, and we'll be up here a couple of years. I'm keeping
my house in Kenmore, visiting on weekends (I have rehearsals and performances
in Seattle on Saturdays). The kitties took the move like little troopers
(although the drive up here from Kenmore last week was a little ... noisy),
and we're all settling into our new "home away from home" just
fine.
Will get you the photos early next week ...
Cheers!

| Hi Jeannie,
I have Shirley Temple's girl from last year. Zamboni just turned 1 year
old, she's very healthy and happy. I am thinking about getting
another kitten to keep her company. I noticed that JLo recently had
a litter. Can you tell me about them?
Thanks,
Robin

Jeannie,
I just wanted to let you know that we made it home safe and sound. I've
named him Bruce Campbell (in keeping with your movie motif). I put him in
the bathroom and cracked the door, but he was out and about exploring. When
the dogs came in (a great dane and greyhound) Bruce was not fazed one bit.
He was zipping around the house as if there were no dogs. I need to send
you a picture of Bruce and the great dane Virgil snuggling. He is such a
sweetheart, a real lover.Thank you so much for such a wonderful little guy.
He's criminally cute.

Hi Jeannie,
Louie is one of the kittens from Whoopi's September 2006 litter. He's so
great to have around. He's wonderful with my son and any other little ones
that come over. My friends are always amazed at how good he is with kids.
He never hides and is always around even with a room full of toddlers. I
just can't say enough good things about him. He's perfect. Thank you so
much for this little cutie. Enjoy the pictures!

Hi Jeannie,
Just a quick note to tell you Grindel is happy (purrs all the time), healthy
and well loved in PA. We should have named her "Velcro" because
she is always attached to someone. I have never met a more loving kitty.
Jester and she play a lot and Sassy kisses her everyday. Thank you from
all of us for this wonderful kitten!

Jeannie,
Hank (Henry) is so sweet. He is an absolute lover and meows if we put
him down. He has slept with me all cuddled up under the blankets every
night. Mj and I both don't know how you are able to
raise the kittens and then see them leave. he is an absolute lover. I can't
begin to
tell you how much we love him. His personality is so
loving. He is so comfortable when you hold him and he
doesn't mind all the kisses. Thank you so much for
sharing this breed with us. He is the King of the
house and he doesn't even know it! Did either of his
parents have that same personality? His eyes look
more like his Dad's.
Any plans of more kittens?
Thanks again Jeannie-we couldn't be more pleased and
excited about our new addition.

Jeannie,
Stripe is 5 years old and we can't imagine how we ever lived without him.
He is so much a part of our family. The kids, my husband and I brag about
our wonderful kitty all the time. So much, in fact, that our friend and
neighbor is getting one of your kittens! The new addition to the neighborhood
is scheduled to arrive this weekend and we can't wait to meet him! I am
attaching our yearly Christmas pic. Have a happy holiday!
Best wishes,

Jeannie,
Just a few pics of Hank! He has been such a great addition to the
house. He has settled in very nicely. His favorite place is either on
my lap, under the covers at bedtime or next to the fire.
Have a Merry Christmas. Bridget |
Jeannie,
just thought you would like to see Henry growing like a weed! He is so
special. Never have I had a cat that was so loving and just had to be
in your lap or next to you all the time. He kept getting upset every
time I would get into the shower. He would stand up and put his paws on
the glass and meow. So I thought ok, want in, I will let you in. He
loves it. The warm water he thinks is great. Doesn't like it when it
gets into his ears but that's about it. Needless to say he gets to
shower with me several times a month. I am pathetic but I love it.
Henry has no complaints either! Bridget |
| Jeannie Kelley,
Here I am! The Prince of the Moren household now for two years! I love
it
here as you will see in my pictures. My King, Charles, is a fine man and
watches over me daily to play, cuddle, sit with me, and divert my attentions
to only constructive activity. The Queen, Donna, is usually busy about
the
place, but when she sits down---BAM! I am in her lap or on her neck and
quick!! Just to get her love! She is my favorite one. When guests come,
I
prefer to be under the bed, but when I come out I am the center of
attention, of course.
The Queen said that I may want to have a friend here. Do you think that
a
good idea at my age? Do you think a female would be best, and perhaps
white in color? She tells me she is looking now.
Of course I am indoors but what a place to live! I have lots of toys,
several blankets, and any place to perch or sit or climb is allowed. My
claws are kept short, my food clean and bowl full, and lots of fresh water.
I have had absolutely perfect health (except once I ate too much Fancy
Feast
and the vet took me off it-I am fine now and have no problems. The Queen
found a vet who came to the house for me. She said she would not traumatize
me by caging me and hauling me out in the car! Wheew! I am thankful for
that!)
I await your response, Jeannie. I miss you and my friends there where
I
grew up my first life months. I wonder how everyone is doing, where my
brothers and sisters are, and if I will have a new friend or not. If not,
I
will be content and remain happy! Bye bye.

Hi Jeannie,
Just to let you know that Shirley is doing very well. She and I seemed
to bond very easily and spent lots of time together. She's getting to
know my husband a little more cautiously but seems to like him and did
sleep on our bed for awhile last night, mostly though in a bed next to
ours. She's understandably a little bit shy and perhaps a little bit lonely
as she did go from room to room a lot yesterday, checking things out but
maybe also wondering where the others are. Overall, though, she's very
curious and cuddly and we love her. We're giving her plenty of quiet time
(no visitors for awhile) to get used to her new surroundings and get to
know us.
Karen
Hi,
What a difference a day makes! Shirley's becoming a real clown, very playful,
full of energy, and eating well. So far, not a hint of allergy, so that's
wonderful. My husband took to her immediately, and she to him.. We're
gonna have a great time together.
Happy day, and it's back to work for me.

My husband said you called. My sweet baby is fine. She
seemed to just be waiting for someone to take her out of the crate. Within
15 minutes after we got to my daughter's appartment, she was playing and
wrapping herself around my ankles. We got back home last night about 10:30.
She played a little then crawled in the bed and went to sleep. This morning
she's playing and purring.
I use bottled water all the time because I won't drink tap water, so I don't
expect the cats to. I also have a booda box and 2 cat trees. She's already
been
to the top of the 78" one.

Hello Jeannie,
I adopted the most beautiful kitten from a litter in 2000, his name is
Hershey. His is the best cat anyone could have asked for. He is extreme
loving and has never ever been mean to anyone no matter what they do.
(some kids can be a little rough). The only one he may cry at is Remy
our Husky because sometimes he will lick Hershey till he is wet...LOL
Other than that he and our Maltese, Brandy, are best friends.
Thank you for all your help and again thank you for the best cat anyone
could ask for. I have recently been placed on SS disability and he is
a great companion. He always stays be my side and lays with me. When I
am in my worst pain and crying he always runs over, lays on my lap, gives
a few licks to my hand and purrs. I have attached a few pictures.
Thanks for the best gift in the world,
Christine |
