Philoptochos Food Cupboard!!

A basket is located in the Narthex waiting for your donations of nonperishable goods (diapers, canned goods, etc.) - items which will assist both Father Elias and Philoptochos in meeting the needs of those who require assistance.  if you have any questions about this initiative do not hesitate to contact either Father Elias or Mary Singeris, President of Philoptochos.

We need your help through your involvement and your ideas!


We would like to hear from you in order that we may plan and move into the future responding to relevant needs.  This is an opportunity for you to voice your opinions, concerns and suggestions - and this survey is not only for members but all women 18 years of age and above!  Hence, it would be greatly appreciated if you would take some time to help us by completing the following survey.  Once you have completed the survey drop it off at the Church Office.  Take this moment to share this initiative with yiur friends and family and suggest that they participate.  A copy of the survey - in both Greek and English - is available through the church Office or by approaching Philoptochos Board members OR you may pick up a copy of the survey in the Narthex.  Please make this your prioity - complete and return the survey by April 30th, 2007.  We thank you for your assistance and interest.

Philoptochos Aims & Purposes:  To preserve the sacrednes of the Orthodox family through family concern, service, unity of action; to perpetuate the Christian concept of marriage and upbringing of children and through it perpetuate and promote the Greek Orthodox Faith and traditions in conformity with its doctrines, canons, discipline, divine worship, usages and customs;

To promote the charitable, benevolent, philanthropic and eleemosynary purposes of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of North and South America by instructional programming, presentation, lectures, seminars and other educationl resources.

To formulate plans and methods to voluntarily aid the poor, the destitute, the hungry, the aged, the sick, the unemployed, the orphaned, the imprisoned, the widowed, the handicapped, the victims of dissasters to undertake the burial of impoverished persons and to offer assistance to anyone who may need the help of the Church through special funds or solicitations on the local level; and

To promote participation in the activities of the Greek Orthodox community with the cooperation of the Parish Priest and the Parish Council.
On February 18th, 2007 Philoptochos Celebrated the Name Day of St. Philothei.  In addition, Philoptochos hosted their Annual Memorial Service.
