Mac Murrell , I began detecting in 1974 in an attempt to find my high school class ring. I haven't found the class ring yet but I have found a lot of other neat stuff instead. My primary interest is in the Civil War. One of my better days relic hunting included finding a 79th New York Highlander Thistle Button, U.S. Box plate and U.S. Buckle that were all about 10 feet away from each other and may have belonged to the same soldier. This will be my second GNRS.
