In AC0099, a spacenoid scientist named "Klaupacius" created two Gundam prototypes to realize his dreams of conquest, or whatever it was he was dreaming of - nobody really knows. It is a matter of historical record that his two "Dark Gundams" left a trail of utter destruction in their wake and certainly were not benevolent emissaries of peace and pleasantness.
The fault could lie entirely with the pilots of the two Gundams, who may have been driven insane by the power at their command. The issue may never be resolved, and Klaupacius escaped the assault and occupation of his asteroid base by the Earth Federation forces so his true objective may never be determined.
The Dark Gundams were presumed destroyed in a final battle with the massive Federation Mobile Armor "Warspite", though no remains were found, other than those of the Warspite...
