KAREN M. CAMPBELL has been a published journalist since 1974, when she joined The Amityville Record as its youngest staff member. She has hundreds of staff and freelance publishing credits to her name.
She has since won a number of awards for her writing and desktop publishing, including an “Uppies” Award for best political action committee newsletter in San Diego County (for which she competed against herself, having been nominated for two different newsletters).
A graduate of Muhlenberg College, Karen participated fully in campus life, earning honors with Iota Beta Sigma (radio), Pi Kappa Delta (speech), and being the first person from that school inducted into the Society of Collegiate Journalists for both print and broadcast journalism! She graduated with a double major in German and Political Science/International Relations.
She then attended University of San Diego School of Law, where she served as assistant editor of the school newspaper and wrote numerous feature articles.
Eventually, she started her own newsletter, Writers’ Rendezvous, which earned several honors and awards. She has had regular columns in several publications, including a humor column in The Liteside, and has written/edited several community organization newsletters.
Karen was a charter honoree of her high school’s Hall of Achievement, joining such luminaries as TV star Kene Holliday and Major League Baseball pitcher Hank Webb on the Wall of Fame.
In approximately 20 years of legal work, Karen has also earned kudos from several attorneys as the best legal assistant they ever worked with.
Through coordination with local musicians, actors, and graphic artists, Karen can bring you full communications services, for both print and broadcast purposes, including website design.
