Brian Holland...Click to read an excerpt from Project Brainfire.
This talented and very private person hails from Alberta, Canada. I wrote to Brian recently, and asked that he share a little about himself. Be careful what you ask for...you might just get it. This was his reply:

"Awright, ye trubblesome wench, I'll tell thee. I arose from the union of the local barber and the village idiot's sister, the local witch. Most of me childhood, like, was spent in a wet gunny sack, round the back of the family business. That was daycare in them days, a wet gunny sack. Aye, but ye've hurd i'tall many a times, many a times..."

With Pamela June Kimmell's blessing, I am permitted to call James the "King of Short Stories". James's collection of shorts entitled Mettle is a testament to the human spirit that examines us at our best and our worst. His rich words and diverse voice are a treasure trove as he weaves his spell over the reader. His poetry is also a feast for the soul. James's work has appeared in Epiphany Magazine. He and his wife and family make their home in Appleton, Wisconsin.

This native of Yorkshire, England earned his living as a mechanical engineer, where he was a tool buyer for a large engineering company before trying his hand at writing. The Knights of Nayal will eventually extend to five volumes and is Geoff's first attempt at fantasy. His characters trandscend time and place, sweeping the reader into a world of adventure, love, and romance--not to mention a bit of action and humor! Geoff thinks there should be more people in this world who believe in the Nayal philosophy, and that dragons should be placed on the endangered species list, along with shape-shifters and sorcerers.
