CHARTER
TO ALL FREEMASONS OF THE ANCIENT AND ACCEPTED SCOTTISH RITE UNTO WHOM COME THIS
Greetings
Whereas, on the 30th day of November, 2000 on the Feast of Saint Andrew, our esteemed Ill Bro H. Wallace Reid 33° Grand Minister of State and Sovereign Grand Inspector General in South Carolina issues a charter, to the Brethren named hereon:
Walter Baldwin 32°, Terry Bird 32°, Wayne G. Brown 32°, Charles R. Carvander 32°, David J. DeChant Sr 32°,
Walter C. Disher II 32°, George D. Farmer 32°, Douglas Gressette 32°, E. Robert Hepfner 32°, David S. Hilton 32°,
Charles E. Hudson Jr 32°, Emory T. Leverette Jr 32°, Leroy “Buddy” Mattox 32°, David W. Mizell 32°,
William Rooney 32°, Michael Sheedy 32°, Henry Ed Smoak 32°, Walter F. Spiller Jr 32°, Keith A. Stika 32°,
Richard A. Wilson 32°, Richard E. Wilson 32°, Thomas Wilson 32°
Constituting them and their associates and successors an Order of the Knights of Saint Andrew to be located at Charleston Scottish Rite Center, in the See of the Valley of Charleston, in the Orient of South Carolina with powers to do all things lawfully belonging to the regular Body of the Order.
AND WHEREAS, the said Brethren of the 32° of the Rite have produced to the Charleston Advisory Council a petition of request with satisfactory report of their labors and keen interest under the same, and having received the favorable vote of confidence of the Council have applied to us for a Charter of Constitution, confirmatory to the preparation of the principles and ideals of said Order.
NOW, THEREFORE, We, the officers of the Sovereign Grand Inspector General's Advisory Council for the Valley of Charleston, Orient of South Carolina in consideration of these things, and of the trust reposed by us in the Masonic skill, ability, and zeal of the Brethren aforesaid, do hereby grant and expedite this our
Charter of Constitution
to be known by the name of
Charleston Valley
Order of the Knights of Saint Andrew
and hereby recognizing
David A. Hilton 32° as Venerable Master
Charles E. Hudson Jr 32° as Senior Warden
George D. Farmer, 32° as Junior Warden
Keith A. Stika 32° as Secretary/Treasurer
of said order to hold their respective offices until their successors shall have been lawfully elected and installed.
AND WE DO HEREBY invest said officers with the full power, when the requisite number of Brethren are present, at stated times, or upon their call, to open and hold such meetings at Charleston South Carolina aforesaid and therein to work after their regular custom, and to abide by the requirements of the order as the adopted By-Laws may from time to time prescribe, to receive persons as members, and to be vested with the powers, privileges, and prerogatives which belong to this Order of Knights.
PROVIDED ALWAYS that said Venerable Master and Brethren shall always be governed by the Laws, Rules, Edicts, and Regulations of the Coordinate Bodies of the Valley of Charleston and to us all shall always be loyal and beg true allegiance, and that it shall also obey all lawful orders and edicts of the Supreme Council, Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry for the Southern Jurisdiction of the United States of America. In default whereof this charter of Constitution shall be liable to revoke.
