WELCOME TO MY SHOP
LET ME INTRODUCE MYSELF:
My name is Jim Lillie. I am a retired dentist and later a retired landscape designer. My wife and I live on an acreage just outside of Topeka, Ks.
About 15 years ago my wife decided I needed a hobby-----so I purchased a used Shopsmith for $900 and set up shop in one of our garages attached to the house. Since that time I have expanded the shop to 28' x 20', and have added a few more tools.
The following are photos of my shop and some of my more recent projects. Click on photos for a larger image.
The first comment I hear from visitors is that they have never before seen a shop that is carpeted. It's a commercial carpet that was installed 10 years ago and still looks good. There are many advantages to carpeting. To name a few: It's more comfortable to stand on, dropped items suffer less damage and I can use the floor for a workbench. I clean it with a floor sweep attached to a Delta two-stage dust collector.
