Here comes our favorite CSX conductor riding a mother and slug set. He's returning to Defiance from North Baltimore on the NB Local. This is the first of three M&S; sets this day.

The diamond breaks

The first picture is of the diamond earlier in the day. The rest of the pics were taken after a pair of mother and slug sets (4 units) lead a ballast train south. The next train was the Q272. We originally thought the Q272 kicked up the broken piece and carried it 60' north of the diamond. After looking at the pictures closer you can see the diamond is already broke in the first picture.
