Spiritual Mission for Living
Athiest to Believer

Because of my own issues with my sexual orientation and my initial thoughts on what it means to be gay, I started to associate anything "religious" or anything having to do with God as negative. I started to feel that anyone displaying "religious" beliefs was going to judge me and how I felt! I think a lot of people (not just gay) start to feel this way because that is how you start to think when you deal with some people who openly display "hatred" and/or are "extreme" and/or are just "MisInformed" and/or plain "Ignorant".

The bottom line is to realize that it is only the "extreme" and/or "ignorant" people who will try to make someone feel bad about who they are or what they want out of life. I realized it's not God or Spirit who makes someone feel bad. God or the Goodness of Spirit is here for each of us!  No one, and I mean NO ONE is left out.  Now even if you do not believe in “God” it doesn’t make you a “bad” person or even near bad.  It just means you have a different point of view on life.  So when I or anyone else refers to “God” please do not take this to mean that you are left out!!

When I make reference to God or Spirit, it is exactly that, a reference to the feeling of “goodness” of people and life (not some magical “physical” figure you see in your head, in pictures or the movies or books).  When one focuses in on the “goodness” of life and people in general, there is no time to worry about the imaginary “bad” things.  (It’s really really true).  The word “bad” is again, a feeling - why keep those “bad” feelings - there is no reason we have to!  God does not pick and choose, he is there for all!  No person is better than another and this truth is a spiritual law!
