I have been receiving requests from many of you that have asked about obtaining additional information about other SC's that saw service in WWII. The best I can advise is the same thing that I did...Go to the National Archives II in College Park, Maryland. College Park is located north and east of Washington, D.C. Take I-495 east from I-95 to the Route 650 exit.(New Hampshire Avenue.) Go South on 650 to Adelphi Road. (It may be the 2nd or 3rd light, I cannot remember; but it is not far) Turn left onto Adelphi Road and the National Archives II is located on the left side. Plan on spending a minimum of 4 hours, and more if needed. You will need to go to two or three sections of the Archives and review mircofilm in one, Deck logs and Muster rolls in another. Each step along the way, you need to request specific rolls of microfilm, or books containing documents from the staff. At this time you will have to wait for your request to be filled. Once it is you will have all the time needed to do your research. Each time I have visited, the staff has really been helpful. Just be patient and stay the course. Their microfilm readers are capable of xeroxing copies for you at a small fee for each.
Good luck with your research, and searches. If I can be of help, feel free to contact me. Respectfully
Jim Myers This is supposed to show a map...
