I looked in your eyes, Just a glance was such. But the hold on me, As you turned my way, Was more than a feeling, Time stopped that day. I watched from a distance, As you roamed the room, Glancing at me, Then away, too soon. Our eyes touching As if to say How do we know Each other this way. Not a word spoken, Or physical touch, Only our shadows Understood the hush. I waited in silence, Your approach, your smile, Eager to talk Together awhile. Just your presence, Melted my strength, I felt I was floating As we stood arms length. I was in a daze When you said hello, All I could feel Was your essence aglow. I remember asking, Were you from the states, Yes, you said, But it was late. I heard the whistle Blow from the sea, A call to shore, Return to me. Then you were gone, Without a name, I watched you go From where you came. Alone on the shore, By waters deep blue, As you sailed away, I knew, I knew..... To the Isles of Greece, We both had returned, Our lives softly touched, My heart still yearns. How deep this longing, To find you again, I still feel your presence, Vibrating within. The unspoken words, In a far away land, Haunt my memories Of your smile, your hands. For only a second, We loved with our eyes, Fate has a way Of brushing our lives. I know in my heart, We loved in lives past, For within those moments, We were one at last. I feel the sorrow Of the unspoken word What is your name Echoes unheard. It happened in early May, 1999 while visiting the Greek Isles of Aegina, Poros and Hydra. He said he was from Connecticut and would leave Friday for another island. I was leaving the next day to return to the states. Our paths crossed again later that evening when he appeared at the same outdoor cafe where I was dining. Again our lives touching, but our words silent. It was as if we both wanted to explore the journey, but a higher force separated us, as if to say no.....not now. How could it be that we were in the same place, the same space, at the same time. I felt...no, I knew we had known each other before. But why our paths crossed was never revealed. We did not exchange names, only our thoughts in time. Joy Light, copyright, (c), 1999 Please sign my Guest Book All Rights Reserved 1961 - 2004 Copyright is retained by the author.
