All the grandkids and great-grand kids made it.....from all over the nation. It was two years in the making. :-) To Grandmother's House We Go We had counted the hours Until we were there, Dressed up in smiles And a whisper of prayer. When she entered the room, There was caution and love. A birthday watched over, By God from above. And she was so perfect, So gracious and fine. Said, I'll see eveyone, And she took the time. She was now ninety, Much wiser than me, I was just knowing My family tree. When ocean touched ocean, And the grandkids stood tall, I saw happy teardrops, Fourteen in all. A proud team we were, And didn't even know, In twenty-four hours Did I ever grow. I'll never lose sight Of the way that we cared. I'll never forget New memories shared. All the emotions That sometimes were sad, Secret thoughts hidden Behind faces so glad. All the deep feelings That words cannot touch, Were wrapped up inside us, Our hugs said so much. When our goodbyes were over, And we each left our own, I cried like a baby, From Grandma's to home. I will always remember, That day shared with kin, And I wonder sometimes, Could we do that again.
