In the early spring under a soft rain, A raindrop drifts slowly through the air, Softly landing at the outer center of me, Touching lightly the outer tip of my delicate petals. Responding to a natural separation As the raindrop touches on me, As it flows inside of me, Down all sides of me, I feel the warm, intimate sensation Of the water blending into my inner center, Becoming part of me and I part of the raindrop. Now nourished by the raindrop, I begin to blossom. Thru heavy rains and wind I am rustled, But I feel safe on the inside, I am not alone, I part of the raindrop, the raindrop part of me. We grow together such that each feels safe When the weather becomes overpowering, When the storms come. Now a beautiful flower in full bloom, I enclose the inner self at night, To guard against the cool night air, But with the raindrop the day I share, As we rest together each night, And play together each day, Enjoying the seasons of Spring to Summer, Summer to Fall, Fall to Winter, Winter to Spring. With each season we change a little, As we grow more intimate, As we share our inner selves During the shedding of my petals And exposure of our inner center Such that all see whither we endure. Slowly the color in our leaves fade Moving down into our stem In preparation for the cold winter months. Quietly we endure the winter, Nestled deep within our protective cover. Yet soon feeling the desire for movement Together we rise into the warmth of the universe To rebirth in our forthcoming journey As we remember the seasons that passed before, And how we blossomed together for the first time. We feel safe, secure, warm, intimate, and loving, Yet each aware of our individual selves, I the flower, he the raindrop Together the active energy that is one.
