Currently Known History of LCT 703

The LCT 703 was a Mark 6 LCT. At Normandy, it was part of Flotilla 17, Group 50, and was commanded by R. Craig Fabian.

LCT 703 was scheduled for Dog Green at H+60 to take in 121st Engineering BN. It was damaged by mines, sunk in shallow water and hit by gunfilre which set it ablaze. Ens. Elsaesser and half the crew were taken aboard LCT 536.
