Children's Plays and Picture Books

How did I start by being published in the Australian Financial Review, and end up writing plays and stories for children?
I studied Communications at Griffith University, and during that time had work published under my by-line.
After some freelance work, I spent a large amount of time traveling the countryside, soothing my itchy feet.
A move to Adelaide in 1989 allowed me to attend the North Adelaide School of Art.  I participated in several exhibitions, including the Fringe Festival.
Babies and moving to the country brought me back to writing.
While working for an Educational Consultant, I began writing plays for primary aged children - ages 6-9, three of which have been performed.  All props were made by the students who were able to show their art as well as their acting skills, increasing their sense of achievement.  I have found the plays to be well recieved by children and teachers alike.
The art classes for props were designed in conjunction with the school curriculum.
I designed Literacy Kits for the Eudunda Kindergarten in 2001. It was during this time I  began writing picture books.  The easy to remember verse is written from a child's point of view.
The text focuses on Dolch Words, aiding early reading skills and word recognition.  The rhythm and rhyme provide an easy to read story.
