Pioneertown
Red Dog Saloon Review.
Sep 2005
It was only 95 deg but cooler inside.  Still a few things to do to get the place ready for the Grand Opening.
We think they ment Cigarette Butts.
The stage is ready.
The help was friendly and we drank our pepsis and  BS'd a while.
We went up on a Saturday.  Nobody in sight when we got there but people were going to the church up the street.  Parking is in the dirt.  Pioneertown is an old movie set just about 5 miles north of Yucca Valley in some hills.  Some of the buildings were still just sets.  But the Church, the Red Dog, the bowlingalley, the LikerBarn and the Photography Shop were more substantial.
The Ladys at the Red Dog are still getting ready for the Grand Opening...maybe next month.  They promise beer, BBQ and entertainment when they open.  In the meantime conversation and softdrinks are on tap.
Pappy& Harriet's down the street is open for food and is excellent. Try the cheese frys.
