Letter to Polygram

To Whom It May Concern:

Please find attached the names and e-mail addresses of concerned record buyers. We have, as a group, decided to petition your company to give our favorite recording artists a fair chance. We feel that your record company did not give Def Leppard an appropriate amount of promotion for their new record, Sl@ng. Def Leppard has been creating fabulous music enjoyed by millions of listeners around the globe for almost two decades. They deserve more support from a company who has surely profited from their obvious talents.

Most of us are just average citizens throughout the world. We work hard, pay taxes, and buy a lot of records. Most of us don't understand how the record industry operates, or how we should go about letting the people who are running things know how we feel. We all have varied tastes in music, but Def Leppard is something that we all have in common. Many people are not even aware that there is even a new album out. Slang was released with very little fanfare, especially in the United States, where a majority of the unhappy consumers are located. Def Leppard has a strong track record because their talent was supported with promotion early in their career. The talent is still present but we see the promotion slipping. We would hate to think that a company with as much vision as Polygram has become so nearsighted they don't see the enormous potential of an album like Slang.
