Quickie Bookmark

Materials:
Size 10 crochet cotton thread
12" of 3/8" ribbon
Crochet hook size 8

Size: About 7 1/2" x 1 1/4"

Ch 76

Row 1: Dc in the 16th ch from hook, ch 2, skip next 2 ch, dtrc in the next ch, ch 2, skip next 2 ch, dc in the next ch *ch 5, skip next 5 ch, dc in the next ch, ch 2, skip next 2 ch, dtrc in the next ch, ch 2, skip next 2 ch, dc in the next ch* Repeat from * to * 3 times; ch 5 dtrc in the last ch. Do not turn.

Row 2: (This row is worked around the bookmark.) Ch 7, sc in the 4th ch from hook (trc, ch 3, sc in the top of the trc just made) twice in the loop formed by the last dtrc of row 1; ch 1 (trc, ch 3, sc in the top of the trc just made) 9 more times in the same loop; *sc in the base of the next dtrc on row 1; (trc, ch 3, sc in the top of the trc just made) 6 times in the next ch 5 loop* Repeat from * to * 3 times, sc in the base of the next dtrc, (trc, ch 3, sc in the top of the trc just made) 9 times in the end ch 15, ch 1, (trc, ch 3, sc in the top of the trc just made) 9 more times in the same loop. Working along the other side of the bookmark, *sc in the next dtrc, (trc, ch 3, sc in the top of the trc just made) 6 times in the next ch 5 loop* Repeat from * to * 3 times, sc in the next dtrc, (trc, ch 3, sc in the top of the trc just made) 6 times in the last ch 5. Fasten off. Weave in ends.

Finishing:
Spray starch and iron the bookmark. Starting at either end with the front of the bookmark facing you, weave the ribbon over the center ch 1, then under the dtrc and next dc, then over the next dtrc, then under the next dc. Continue weaving in this manner until the ribbon finishes out over the center ch 1 on the opposite end. Trim ribbon.
