2006 Railroad Updates
Little Granite & Boulder Railroad
![]() The Layout is starting to come to life again.
The pond has been cleaned. The upper falls were rebuilt and resealed due to minor leakage last season. The main pump and filter have been reinstalled, and everything is running smooth. The plants are coming back to life and growing very fast. We did loose 2 small fish over the winter, but the rest are doing very well. The youngest are growing very fast. The largest is around 9" and the "babies" are about 1 1/2" right now.
About 1/2 of the main line trackage has been cleared of debries, waiting for new ballast. The south end of the main will have a new siding installed this season, and another 70 to 80 ft. of track will extend the mainline around "Rocky mountain". This will require a concrete block retaining wall on the north slope of Rocky mountain.
A 10ft. by 15ft. area of bushes have been cleared in the center of the railroad. This will allow the branch line to be re-routed, and a new town and rual area to be developed. The LGB & B RR aquired a new cedar bridge & tresstle last year. This will be installed on the branch line near the town of "Flower Hill". The new branchline will extend around the top of Rocky mountain, eventually ending up back at the little town of "Holly Creek".
Both of these lines, the main, and the branch, will be signal for 2 or 3 train operation.
Eventually a new "Interurban service" will run from the developing town area to "Holly Creek".
