Fishing in the Kingdom of Bhutan

Fishing Tour

Bhutan being a Himalayan land locked country has many rivers branching out from the foot of the Himalayas which contains an abundant Brown Trout. The size of the fish varies from one river to another. The record catch till date was about 8.5 lbs caught by a local expert. The fishing in the rivers in Bhutan is an experience in itself because of the majestic scenery and clean water. The restrictions imposed by the Forest Departments during the breeding season and limitation of catch for fisherman has conserved a good quantity available in all rivers in Bhutan. If you are a keen fisherman you can make the record. You can also have a good treat in the evening at the campsite. This is a tailor made itinerary prepared in consultation with the Expert Angler in Bhutan for the record catch. The best seasons recommended are from March onwards to September. October, November and December is the Brown trout breeding season and fishing is not permitted.
