It all began as easy
As friends meet in the park,
But now we have a love affair
That we're hiding in the dark.
It started out as easy
As clouds that float above--
But what we never counted on:
A love affair costs love.

Swiftly in the stillness
We scurry to the scene
Of secret stolen moments
Afraid we might be seen.
Damning all the dangers
Of the desperate life we lead,
We search behind the darkened doors
For love we've come to need.

We thought it would be easy
To play love's oldest game,
Didn't matter that you have a wife
And I share another's name.
We didn't know that heartache
Would grasp us in it's glove,
For who'd have thought a love affair
Would ever end in love?
