"This I saved" said the doctor,
"And in saving I also created,
For I changed it and made it better
Than ever this form was rated.
"I made this body more perfect
Than ever was made from sod:
Therefore this deed makes me greater
Than the Initial Creator, God.
Where God erred, I perfected,
I defeated the Angel of Death,
Therefore, I must be entitled
To great and untold wealth."
Thus spake the ignorant physician
Though cautioned sternly by peers,
His self-esteem grew greater
With each successful year.
He never acknowledged an error,
It was always the others that failed,
'Til a stroke struck him down in his prime
And left his mind in a jail.
'Tis sad to see the physician
A pitiable wreck and a shell--
But I wonder if it was God or the Devil
That devised this particular Hell?
