Angelyn Collette Taylor is an artist living and working in St.Louis, MO. Drawing from archetypes of the subconscious and established concepts from such things as fairy tales and religion and their effects on the populous in general and women in particular. She allows her work to form of its own accord and considers herself more of an observer to the process than its sole creator, manipulating the flows of artistic energy into images that speak to the roles of women in our contemporary society about how we got to where we are, and where we hope to go from here.
                        Artist Statement

To all women: There’s nothing to be ashamed of, you’re beautiful. Do not be ashamed of your body, your sexuality. Do not do that to yourself. Don’t even contemplate it. It’s not who you are. It’s just what you are afraid of. The imaginary monsters your head makes up… don’t listen to it. It’s a choice. Be strong. Be real. Be who you are. Because who you are is terribly beautiful. Be proud of it. Don’t hide it. Treat your body with dignity. With the respect it calls for. You are a part of the goddess. Your body is her temple. It is where men come to worship and gods come to consecrate.
And since common sense dictates that I cannot get that message across to enough women verbally, I show them what I mean by illustrating a point. Literally illustrating it, as an example. And my simple prayer is that I can get that across. Because lets face it, the world we live in isn’t much for helping us to understand it. So many of us have been abused, ignored, beaten down inside. But we have to collectively rise up and dust ourselves off heal our inner wounding, and somehow manage to make a world where our daughters don’t abuse themselves to be thinner, to the point where many of them literally disappear off the face of the planet, where they respect themselves enough to walk away from an abusive situation before it even starts, and our sisters respect themselves enough to stand up off the floor and walk away from thier own abusive situations, and take their children with them,  stopping the eternal chain of abuse by saying "This is unacceptable, and won't be tolerated." And we ourselves can stand up and just be proud, just because we're here, because we made it through this far.
May you be blessed. May you love and be loved. May you be at peace.
