the truth....
.the truth about Stephani.

My brother and me in Hollywood over spring break... wow, we look really tired.
Can you see the "Hollywood" sign behind us?
April 25. 2002.

Hello. I'm Stephani.
Well, as you all should know... I am the author of "Breathing". Yay! I'm gonna try to explain more about me without sounding like a moron, so here I go.

I am an nineteen year old college chick in Fairfield, CA. Yes, Fairfield does exist. I decided to keep my hometown as the place where Apolo gets stuck because, well, it's right inbetween Sacramento and San Francisco, right off of I-80. I really dislike it here, but that's because I've never lived anywhere else.

Anyway... the picture above is me at my high school graduation. I'm at the junior college here in town. It's okay... not really... but, I'm (most likely, if everything goes right) transferring to CSU Northridge in January. I'm a mass communications major, which means I like people a lot.

I have been writing since I was little - basically since I could pick up a pencil. It's something that comes naturally to me. I've been published in a couple small things, nothing really big, but it's enough for me, for now (considering that was when I was fifteen). This is the biggest work I have done to date. Most of my former works consisted of expositories, poetry, and really mean letters to people I don't like.

I have been an Apolo fan since the opening ceremonies. I've seen people go around saying, "You only took interest in him when the Olympics started!" and to that I say... honestly!!! I'm not an athlete, nor do I follow the Winter Olympics too much, so I didn't even know the sport of short track existed. In the beginning my interest was primarily hormonal (he's a cutie, what can I say?), but after reading Sports llustrated and numerous other articles on him, I grew interested in his story, and it motivated me to take my dreams a bit further.

I admit that some of the characters are characterized after people I know. However... I stand true in my disclaimer. This is not a fantasy of mine, it is a work that formulated in my head. The *only* reason I used real-life character traits was because I have never written fiction before, and writing characters is not an easy job. There are some of my own character traits in Kiki, but this is for the purpose of the story, not to fulfill anything for me to daydream about.

I'm a fan of music (and a former musician as well). I listen to mostly what sounds good on the radio, but I am a big Tori Amos fan. I collect Cheshire Cats and movie posters. My two favorite movies are Almost Famous and Life as a House. I also enjoy traveling, taking road trips, visiting my friends who are in college, sleeping, hanging out at the 'Bucks (aka. Starbucks. I love that place), and being with my wonderful friends.

If you have any further questions or comments about the story, please don't hesitate to contact me.

I always appreciate feedback, be is praise or (constructive) criticism, so tell me what you think!
