What is magic really? Who among us can say that when we watch David Copperfield make an airplane disappear in front of our amazed eyes, that we don't just for a moment want to BELIEVE that it is true. There have been magic makers in every society, everywhere in the world. They have been called Shamans, Medicine People, Druids, Magi, Oracles, Sages, and a thousand other titles. They are the mystical people among us that teach, advise, heal with herbs and magical potions, and conjure up or chase away things that are not visable to the non-believing eye.
We have met them in books, movies, or meditations. They are the Merlins, the Wise Ones, the All Knowing Ones.
We love stories about the other worlds, and the mystical magical beings that inhabit them. We all want to see a Fairy in our garden, or a Dragon just passing by. That is why we go to see Harry Potter, or Lord of the Rings. It is to experience that Magic.
We still have magical people among us. They walk by us everyday, sit beside us at the movies, or work in the same buildings, doing all the ordinary things we do. Or, better yet, you are one of those magical people yourself. The modern day Wise Ones, the Healers, the Teachers, or the Oracles.
