WHERE I RESEARCH ?
I research in Virginia and Washington D. C. There are more than 500 libraries and repositories, holding a vast array of original historical and genealogical resources at my disposal. The county and city courthouses are filled with four hundred years of Virginia heritage. The cemeteries and historical resources are among the oldest in our country. If you have ancestors that lived and/or died in Virginia or you are interested in the history of this area, I can be of help.
WHAT I DO?
The first thing I do is a FREE consultation to determine how I can help you and what direction the research should take. During this consultation I will need to obtain the information you possess about your ancestry. We will also discuss what information you wish to obtain. This information will save you from being charged for unnecessary and duplicated research. If we are both in agreement with the direction to be taken in the research then it is at this time that a $100.00 retainer fee will be collected.
I will use all of my skills and knowledge to accomplish your research goals. Upon completion of this project I will provide you with a detailed record of all the resources I researched and a detailed record of all expenses incurred.I will provide you with copies of all documents I copied during the course of this project. I will photograph your ancestors homes, churches, tombstones, or anything else that may be of interest to you. Upon completion the results of the research will be provided to you.
If your goal is membership in a lineage society, such as Daughters of the American Revolution, The Jamestown Society, or the Sons of the Confederacy, I will research toward that goal. If the research proves your lineage to be accepted I will prepare and submit your application.
