Daily Update
December 1, 2003
-I am the worst at updating sites, I know. It has been so long, and so much has happened, I will just dive right in.
-IMAX is GREAT! I am having a great time, there have been no problems, I am actually making some money! We are into the school year now, so it is group after group of screaming, annoying, shi-...I mean, adorable, sweet children. On top of that, we opened Matrix Revolutions on opening day, which meant I was at the theatre from about 6:30 AM till 5:30 PM. Though the crowds were great and mostly calm ( I kept telling the staff at IMAX that for every one horror story from Reloaded they gave me, I could give them three from ONE SATURDAY NIGHT at Cleveland Cinemas). Brad (my supervisor) complimented me on my calm head and how fast I was. DUH! They complain about cleaning ONE 440-seat theatre...try 11 the smallest of which holds 150! Anyway, reviews came up, and guess who got a 30 out of 35 (what can I say; Brad doesn't give 5s)? That's right, your's truly is now sitting pretty on a raise. Not alot more, but enough that it makes me feel better and makes me feel like I might actuallty be able to pay the rent without sucking off various and assorted relatives for the rest of my life. Ah, the life of a college grad in today's economy...
-Also, for those that haven't heard the general celebration coming from Chicago, Frodo-a-Go-Go: The Rings Recycled recently sent out a call for replacements. The show was supposed to close in April, 2003; it is now confirmed through March, 2004. Anyway, some actors decided playing Go-go, Stanwise, Paragon son of Taragon (sometimes "Skipper"), and various others was something they didn't want to do for the rest of their lives. There were auditions, there were callbacks, and the result is you are now reading the homepage of the Female understudy for The Free Associates' Frodo-a-Go-Go!!!! Even better, Steve is playing Randolf (and getting his butt kicked at least once a night; more on that later). The pay sure isn't what Liv Tyler made, and when I say "Female" understudy I mean every role played by a female, i.e., Aerosmith, Fran (Galadriel), Go-Go, Stanwise, Legoland (not ONE word from the peanut gallery) and Aol, but this is with one of the more known companies, at one of the more known theatres (The Royal George), doing something I love.
-Now, to get back to Steve getting his butt kicked. As many of you by this time have heard, I am now gaming, as in "Dungeons and Dragons". I am having a great time, despite the fact I am the last born of the aelfs, carrying something that might just end the world if I use it the wrong way, accopanied by a group of companions that you would not normally see together, and we all nearly gotten eaten by a twelve foot ant a few weeks ago. Steve is our "Dungeon Master", and there have been several times when I have found myself wanting to launch myself across the table and hurt him...The six of us that must suffer his scheming are going to enjoy watching him get it from Cinnamon (Saurumon).
-GO SEE Master and Commander and Love, Actually. SKIP Matrix Revolutions: completely unsatisfying ending. BUY Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl and the Soundtrack for The Return of the King. READ The Lord of the Rings: War and Warfare.
-15 days until choices must be made by humans, elves, dwarves, wizards, and hobbits in matters of love, friendship, family, duty, loyalty, and destiny...yet all choices and sacrifices might be in vain if the stregnth of one falters...(though some of us will be seeing it three hours before everyone else...hehehe...GO TRILOGY TUESDAY!)
