"Just Love You"
Written By Amy Houston Bonds

When you were missing I begged.
I pleaded, I promised, I dealed til the end.
I planned your homecoming...a party so grand.
I planned to hug you, scold you, ...and just love you.

My faith was much larger than any mustard seed seen.
I knew my Heavenly Father would grant me this plea.
I worried, I fretted, I prayed with no cease.
We wanted to hold you, thank God for you,...and just love you.

"The world by the tail" that's how it was to go.
But now, what could've been we'll never know-
Years of marriage, children, and growing old.
Time spent to teach you, to learn from you, ...and just love you.

God answered my prayer, but in His way.
He brought you to your home...not your visiting place.
He's blessed us with memories, your smile, your grace.
He's blessed us to know you, to watch you, ...and just love you.

I see you in my dreams every night.
Sometimes you're running, reaching, winning the fight.
Sometimes you're sitting in my lap, laughing, and holding on tight.
Always, I want to hug you, stare at you... and just love you.

What a blessing your short life has been.
Your story, your smile, your innocent plans.
I wish those who you never met
could hug you, know you, ...and just love you.

Mandy, I'll miss you for my time left here.
I'll think of my cousin, one so dear.
I find comfort each night that the Lord holds you near.
That He will hug you, hold you, ...and just love you.

"This Child Of Mine"

"I'll lend you for a little time, a child of mine" he said.
"For you to love while he lives and mourn for when he's dead.
It may be six or seven years, or twenty-two or three.
But will you, till I call him back, take care of him for me?
He'll bring his charms to gladden you, and shall his stay be brief,
you'll have his lovely memories as solace for your grief."

"I can not promise he will stay, since all from earth return,
But there are lessons taught down there, I want this child to learn
I've looked the wide world over in my search for teachers true,
And from the throngs that crowd life's lane, I have selected you.
Now will you give him all your love, nor think the labor vain,
Nor hate Me when I come to call him back again?"

I fancied that I heard them say:  "Dear Lord, thy will be done."
For all the joy thy child shall bring, the risk of grief we'll run.
We'll shelter him with tenderness, we'll love him while we may,
And for all the happiness we've known, forever grateful stay;
But shall the angels call for him much sooner than we've planned;
We'll brave the bitter grief that comes, and try to understand.
