INTRODUCTION TO "LOTOLOGY" & "LOTOLOGIST"

As a means of introduction, a "LOTOLOGIST" is one who collects Lottery Tickets and other related Lottery items as a hobby (known as "LOTOLOGY"). I became a Lotologist over 17 years ago, a good 7 years prior to the names "Lotology" and "Lotologist" even being chosen to identify this hobby and it's participants. In 1989 I discovered that there were hundreds of others worldwide interested in this hobby, and I became Member #102 of the LCS (Lottery Collector's Society). This Club has since merged with another Club and has become GLCS (Global Lottery Collector's Society).
In 1990 I formed LUMTEC (Lottery Unscratched Mint Ticket Exchange Center), which consisted of numerous Members who, like myself, were primarily interested in collecting Unscratched Mint Lottery Tickets (MT's), whereas most Lotologists were interesed in scratched lottery tickets (TK's) or sample voids (SV's) in their collections. Through LUMTEC, the Members could exchange MT's from their State for MT's of other States, without the necessity of trading with several individual Members. In the process of being the central distribution center for these trades, I accumulated what has ultimately become the world's largest inventory of lottery MT's from all US and Canadian Lotteries. Even though I have restricted my involvement with this activity, I am still interested in accumulating MT's for recent, current and future years, using my vast inventory of prior issues as trading stock. I would be interested in hearing from any Lotologist who would like to discuss a trade arrangement whereby I use my inventory in trade for recent and future MT's from other States.

GLCS (Global Lottery Collector Society)

If you have an interest in Lotology, and would like to get in contact with other Lotologists, I would suggest that you investigate becoming a Member of GLCS with US or Canadian annual dues of only $15 or 2 years for $27. This provides you with the opportunity to communicate and trade with hundreds of other Lotologists worldwide, receive a monthly newsletter (The LOTOLOGIST), and purchase a Catalog of all instant Lottery tickets issued by all US & Canadian lotteries since their inception in the mid 1970's, and an update of new issues each month in the newsletter.
To obtain additional information, just contact the GLCS Secretary Treasurer George Beilke at gbeilke@msn.com or contact me at LUMTEC@aol.com
