6-Pack Plus Page one!

We EVEN rescued a Prairie Dog and his name is Sagebrush!! You just heard his little whistle-like bark.

The 6-Pack Plus's Page!

DROP INTO OUR SHELTER... after we've worked SO HARD for HOURS!! ;-)

These are our "kids" that were rescued... ALL rescued except one... we were not "educated". PLEASE consider having your pet spayed or neutered after reading about my darling rescues.

Flea was no bigger than a flea, but will always be in our hearts. She's now our Guardian Angel. Her passing broke up the Flea, Tick & Powder trio.

Tick, (schnauzer). Found on our son's Birthday covered with ugly ticks running down railroad tracks in Nebraska. Death would have been soon, we had passed a train.

After being blessed with Tick's presents 11 years, Tick has gone to Rainbow Bridge. She passed away full of cancer, July 13, 2000, two days before our son's 24th Birthday. Tick was our little "trick" dog and performed at nursing homes and hospitals. She is sadly missed.

No.1 "Kid", Powder, (poodle). Found covered with mud running down a busy street during a thunderstorm. She had been beaten the worst of any of my rescues.

No. 2 "kid" Miss Kitty, (yorkshire terrier). Purchased after losing our little dog, Flea.
Miss Kitty is International Certified Therapy registered. She's a pro at giving kisses and ALWAYS in a dress! LOL

No.3 "Kid", Marshal Dillon, (yorkshire terrier). Found thru a waitress. He was a mistake... which I learned after volunteering at a Humane Society is excuse number 101. He prefers a goose to a horse!

No.4 "Kid", Sweet Nikki, (yourshire terrier). Excuse number 150 thru the Humane Society... I just can't take care of her. Of course, they let her teeth rot INTO her head first, toe nails grow into a cork screw shape, she had a BAD kidney infection and at 7 years of age had NO socialization skills. She's still shy!

No.5 "Kid", Festus, (yorkshire terrier). Papers WERE signed for him to be euthanized at a county shelter. At about 8 months old, he spent his first Christmas in "jail" and was covered with almost two pounds of tangled, matted, stinky hair. Festus only weights 5 pounds. (he's the one on the right, Dillon is on the left)

No. 6 "Kid", Pixie, (doberman) was starved. She was flown from Detroit to the Denver airport Dec.3rd, 1999. SPECIAL THANKS to the Animal Angels along the way.
Pixie was first rescued by a Animal Angel named Martha. She saved SO many "kids", I would do anything for her including adopt her daughter, Pixie, when she could no longer care for her. Bless you Martha, our prayers are with you!

Here's how she is today. Giving kisses!

Maddie's owner died. Her relatives have donated and helped us in more ways than we will ever be able to repay to have her safe..

2-K tried to bite a potential owner. The fact that she's also a fence jumper and we fear for her life, she stays.

Moshee bit her new owner and was returned. She was very abused and has taken a LONG time to warm up to anyone. She stays. All her puppies were adopted.

Old Twiggy was scheduled to be killed at the local pound. Now that she is totally blind and finds her way around here, she stays.

BugsE has became our spokes "person" for the training that can be done on a homeless "kid." Only turned in this last January 2003 and she is rolling over, shaking hands, knows down, stay, is working on agility and several other really neat tricks. She will start her pet therapy visits in June.

Wyatt Earp was from a terrible puppy mill bust. He had to be force fed and almost died.

WOW!! We even rescued a cat! She was dumped (nothing new for God's furry kids). The vet says she was probably hit by a car. She is missing some teeth and her tongue hangs out like poor Nikki's. They make quite a pair!! We named her Spooky because she can do MANY things. She even barks like The 6-Pack Plus!! LOL :-)

Festus LOVES to make her bark!

Sue was lived trapped and is very loving, but not to strangers.

Mary Kate is our first kitten. She welcomes kitties that are fostered.

Sagebrush is another rescue. He was brought to my house early one morning almost dead. He still drinks from a bottle, plays with the other "kids" and is a real delight! That is..... unless you have a cold, he barks at every sniffle! (If you think it wasn't a challenge to get a prairie dog to pose next to roses and bark on command, be my guest.)

The above "kids" all go to nursing homes, including Sagebrush and Spooky.

My next "kids" don't go to nursing homes YET. They were rescued when I heard about them going to auction. 150 "brothers and sisters" went to canneries and 95 were "saved". Here they were when they were first rescued. Their names are Duke and Dutchess.

We lost Duke in a tragic accident. Tribute to Duke and Updated Pictures See our rescued horse, Wheatie

I hope you've enjoyed the stories about my rescues.

HELP control the pet population. Please have your pets spayed or neutered.

This is dedicated to all the abused and homeless "kids". "It is so, they are all God's children."--Mother Theresa
