A Daddy's Letter To Alyson Court :

How Loonette and Molly became a part of my family !

Dear Ms.Court,

Two years ago, on March 28,1997, a miracle happened in my life, my daughter Rebekah Ellyn was born . I've been involved in the art of theatre for a number of years now but was I prepared for this role I was happily cast in ? The role of Daddy!

I must admit it was a challenge at first (and still is.) but soon my wife and I discovered that we had allies in the development of this little girl. It came to us in the form of a clown and her dolly.

We had bought an infant swing soon after she was born. We would put her in it and turn the TV on to the local PBS station. We would watch her to see if there was any show that would hold her interest and none really did. Then during one Saturday feeding, The Big Comfy Couch came on and when the "Clock Stretch" started , Rebekah stopped eating, turned her head to the TV and watched intently. I thought it was just the music, the colors, just something other than the show itself.

A short time later, while in our favorite toy store, we came across the 24" Molly doll. We showed it to my daughter and she held it for the longest time, just staring at it. When we took it away from her to put it back on the shelf, it came with a very prononced "Hey!"... She nows owns ALL the Molly dolls, ALL the Loonette dolls, ALL the videos, ALL the audio tapes, most of the books...etc...etc...It's been the best money we ever spent. May God bless the Bennysmart web site!

We have stood in line for 2 hours so she could meet you. And we've twice gone to see your live tours. In the picture above, the little girl on the right is my niece, Jessica, and she is looking away not because she wasn't excited to meet you but because she was looking for the Dust Bunnies. After we took this picture, Rebekah, tried to wiggle out of my arms so she could play with " 'Nette."

I've been wanting to write to you for a while now to THANK YOU for the joy that you have brought to our daughter and us. She is 2 years old now and it melts this daddy's heart to watch her take her dolls and play along with the videos or to hear her recite her ABC's and knowing that she has learned them from your show. I am sure I'm not the only parent out there that feels this way. What you have done is priceless !
