"Colonel McDonnel's regiment is universally allowed to be the best of the new raised Highland regiments."
"Lord Cornwallis inspected our regiment this morning, and expressed the highest satisfaction at our soldier-like appearamce. It seems to be generally allowed that we are the finest body of men at present in the country, not even the guards excepted."

Who We Are
The 76th is a group of like-minded individuals who share an interest in Colonial American history, focusing in on the Scottish military aspects of the British Army in North America during the American War of Independence. We attempt to accurately recreate a single unit, the MacDonald Highlanders, and portrey it at various events in the Virginia area, the same area that the 76th primarily operated in during its time in North America.
