Fake FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

Reproduction Swords Napoleonic, British & French

Click on the link above to see some great reproductions. This site has good examples of unusually high quality reproduction swords. Collectors MUST look at these to see good modern reproductions.

Deepeeka - Reproduction Swords- These guys do a bit of everything, French, US, rapiers, etc.

Click on the link above to see some interesting reproductions. This site has some German hangers, French smallswords, US swords (check out the Patton saber!!), schiavonas, rapiers, US Civil War, etc. They are producing alot of swords that will fool the uninitated or uninformed. I saw alot of these in Britain being sold to the unsuspecting and the tourists as period items. This is not Deepeekas fault, so don't hesitate to order from them. Collectors MUST look at these to understand what is being reproduced. Several Indian manufacturers will produce swords for you from a photo, drawing or example. They will repro ANY sword. Many patterns not seen in catalogs have been produced in quantity and are being sold as period items. Be cautious when buying the old stuff.

Frequently Asked Questions and Hints and Tips

  • TBD
  • Repro List

There are many reproduction and "fake" swords on the market today. Here is a partial list of the patterns of sword that are currently (or have previously) been reproduced. As more are discovered, I will list them. Please send photos or descriptions of the reproductions that you encounter. Be aware that there are companies in India taking current orders to produce exact replicas of collectable swords. The do very good work and these swords have the potential to fool even the advanced collectors. This will be a major problem in the future.
