Our Unit motto was, "Go Greyhound and leave the flying to Us".
With the assistance from LTC (Ret.) Glenn Hoffman (MAJ back then) we had the moral support from Greyhound Bus Lines out of Texas. Our helicopters were soon decorated with the same running dog decals as you could find on any Greyhound Bus. Greyhound Bus Lines in turn used our Unit colors and direction of the colors for the buses as you can see them today.
It was back in 1996, when the first reunion was planned. With the help of Gerry Ewing, Tom Brown, Peter Gailis and Jon Peterson, we were starting to find the men of the 240th AHC. By the time of the first reunion in May of 1997 held in Washington DC, we had located over 300 former veterans from our unit. Today over 900 men from the 240th AHC have been located. If it was not for the assistance of many of the men from the 240th AHC, no one would be able to have the comraderie that we had lost when we returned from Vietnam.
