The Brewers Softball Team participated in the Philadelphia, Pa area from 1983-1996 in modified-pitch men's softball. During this period the team accumulated an overall official league record of 201-99, including playoffs. The team had it's roots in the old Pennamco team in the First Pennsylvania Bank intra-mural league in the 1970's and early 80's. The Brewers participated in the bank league in 1983, then joined the DVFL in 1984. When the DVFL folded prior to the 1995 season the team moved to South Philly and played in the Palumbo Rec Center league for 2 seasons.
During the 1983-1994 years, the team played it's home games at Archbishop Ryan High School, and won 5 of it's 6 championships at Ryan, still considered the official Mecca of "Brewer Ball." The Brewers won league championships 4 straight years from 1989-1992, and 6 times overall in a 10-year span between 1985-1994 in the DVFL. The team also won 3 regular season titles in this span. For individual honors, 4 different Brewers were named as the DVFL league MVP, 5 players as the All-Star game MVP, and 5 players named as the playoff MVP, and 17 different players were selected as All-Stars at one time or another.
