I was born July 30, 1964 in Brooklyn, New York to parents of Italian and Scottish descent. I was first given the trumpet by my grandfather (who incidentally is for whom Jack Dee's polka was named) at the age of seven. I didn't want to practice while all of my friends were outside playing but I soon realized that playing an instrument made me popular. I studied music for about 12 years with some of the top professionals in New York.
I joined the "Magic Notes" who later became the Magitones when I was 13 years old and helped to build that band from the ground up by recording 2 LP's. We were young and it lasted about 6 years. I then joined The New Brass from Mass. It was with them that I achieved some of my most memorable career highlights. I still do some select New Brass Reunion tours.
I now play with the Variety Band trying to keep the music alive. We recorded an album in the year 2000 and plan one for 2002 also. Enjoying modest success and staying active with my music is my goal. Now married and living in Staten Island, I hope to continue making music for the rest of my life.
