Chambers' comforts - olive oil soaps, salves, salts and scrubs
chambers' comforts

About Chambers' Comforts
We make soap the old-fashioned way. And into this soap we put all the good oils that give you a bar that will leave you feeling clean and fresh but also moisturized.
I started reading about making soap when my young son had a problem with cracking and bleeding feet. Much to my surprise the doctor kept insisting that I try different soaps to cure the problem. The soaps he recommended off the shelves at the stores did not work. So once I was comfortable that I understood the process of making soap and the properties of oils I design a recipe that I wanted to try. From those very first bars of soap my sons feet cleared up. And we all were hooked on real soaps.
We use only the finest food grade oils for our soaps. We use at least 50% Olive Oil in all of our soaps. A few of our mildest soaps have even more olive oil in them, up to 100%. We make a point of telling you how much olive oil we use since by law, a company can call their soaps Olive Oil soaps, and have as little as 1% of the total oils be Olive Oil. Instead they will use palm, tallow or coconut as their first ingredient.  Coconut is said to be drying when used over 25%, it is our belief that coconut oil is thought to be drying but in reality - most people are alergic to it. We dont take that chance, so we chose palm kernel as our lathering oil. Palm is a good oil to make a hard bar but it does little else for soap,  if you look at most of your "good" department and specialty store soaps it is listed as the first ingredient dispite how little good it does.. Many other soaps use tallow (fat) and even blends of cheap oils like crisco.
Olive oil, rice bran and castor oil prevents the loss of your skin’s natural moisture, softens skin and attracts external moisture to your skin.  They helps keep your skin soft, supple and younger looking.   We use pure olive oil, the same oil that we use in our kitchen for cooking.  It is important to us to use the purest oils that we can find.  It is important to you that we use the best.   We also use palm kernel, rice bran, palm and castor in our bars. These oils are all used to make the best product we know how. Most of the soaps are 100% vegan. The only exceptions will clearly state that they include milk or honey.
We make these soaps in our home, starting with distilled water and lye that we carefully measure by the gram. Then we add them to all the lovely oils that will make a soap that is not only good for your skin but can be healing for your skin.
We also make calendula salve, lemon balm balm, bath bombs, bath salts and salt scrubs.
We infuse our pure olive oil with healing herbs and simmer them slowly for about 26 hours replacing the herbs as they need it.
For the salt products we use magnesium sulfate, sea salts, dead sea salts, and other goodies depending on the product.
We demand quality since these are the soaps, oils and salts that our family uses. We demand quality because we put our name on these products.
We hope that you will join the ranks of customers who tell us that they are "addicted" to our products.

Products
All of our soaps about 3.5oz to 4oz. The bars are $5.50 and $6.50 for the special soaps. The price difference is solely because of the essential oils and base oils that are used in these soaps are more expensive.
Most of the soaps are 100% vegan and natural, using only lovely essential oils for the aromas.  We do make some soaps that contain fragrance oils, which are man-made and may contain some chemicals.  We make these because so many people want certain fragrances that you can not duplicate with essence oils.  Some of our soap also contain some additives such as lemon balm and oatmeal.  All of these are also natural. All the bars are $5.50 unless marked more.
