MEDIEVAL ARTS
A unique cooperative,
of instructors and students, of living history, focusing on the study and reenactment of the dark and middle ages between the years 400-1600AD. To this end we offer diverse workshops and ongoing training sessions ranging from armored combat and weapons craft to needlecrafts and furniture making. Below, but not limited to, are listed a few of the Schools of the Academy.

School of the Sword:
The study of Western and Near-Eastern armored combat including bladed, hafted and mass weapons, as well as the study of traditional Renaissance sword craft and the arts of civilian combat and defense. We use traditional western fight manuals as well as the new AEMMA training manual on long sword. Armored combat may be both rebated (full contact) and Waster and Steel( Western Kata from period sources)

School of Terpsichore:
Classes in medieval and just post medieval dances and reconstruction.both Western and Mid-Eastern styles

School of Artifice:
The recreation of period furniture, artwork and wares as well as studying Medieval and Dark Ages engineering technique and philosophies.

School of Portrayal:
Covers the studying and reconstruction of first person interpretation of the dress, manners, and mores of personages from the Middle Ages.

School of the Godewife:
Includes the studies of the needle and fabric arts as well as those of the hearth and garden, including period cooking, weaving, rope making, soap making, herbal studies, brewing and vinting.

School of Balistae:
Includes the study and practice of all forms of period archery, thrown and projectile weapons as well as the skills of woods craft.

Rebated Armored Combat:
                  Wed and Fri 7pm est to 11pm
                    Sundays 3:30pm est till 6:30

Ren Sword:
                  Sat 5:00pm till 7pm
                  Sundays 12pm EST to 3pm
        
Dance:
                  (Western period style) TBA              
                  (Mid-Eastern period style) TBA

COSTS:
Regular sessions:
$4.00 per session adult
$3.00 under 16
 Monthly unlimited sessions:
$30.00 per single adult
$20.00 per single child( under 16)
$50.00 family rate( up to 5 members)

 Monthly limited to one session per week:
$30 family rate( up to 5 members)
$30.00 travelers rate ( up to 4 adults signing up together for one session per week)

 FROM THE WEST Take exit 7 and go left at the bottom of the intersection. Proceed to the next intersection ( Pleasant St. CVS in front of you) **Take a right onto Pleasant and go up and thru the next light. The site is a large brick building( circa 1880) across from a Fall River 5 cent Savings Bank. there is a "Stretch A Buck" downstairs below the site. Park in the bank lot.

FROM THE EAST bear right off  exit 7 and follow from ** above.

FROM THE NORTH Take 24S to 195W and follow the directions from the east above.
