Supplies

General Information:

Third grade is a very important year. Many new skills are covered. Keeping up with classwork and homework is extremely necessary. In order to help your child stay organized, he or she will need a 3 ring notebook as described below. Your child will not need any other notebooks, pocket folders, etc. All subjects will be kept in the notebook so your child has fewer items to keep up with. Please do not allow your child to bring "Trapper Keepers" or other large notebooks to school, because there is no room for the notebooks in their desks.

The school will be providing your child with spelling and handwriting workbooks at no charge. No other workbooks will need to be purchased.

The supply list is divided into three sections. The first section is called the Basic Supply List. These are the basic supplies your child will need. The next section is called Much Needed Supplies. These aren't required, but will be extrememely helpful throughout the year. If you click on the picture of the Dog Wizard, it will take you to the next section, called The Class Wish List. These items are needed for projects and lessons throughout the year. Feel free to donate any of these items throughout the year. The children always laugh, because I get so excited when our class get these items!

Basic Supply List:

1. 1 notebook - 3 ring binder 1/2 to 1 inch (Please, no Trapper Keepers, or notebooks larger than 1".)

2. 1 dozen #2 standard pencils

3. 1 three ring pencil holder - This is used to hold loose pencils and crayons, and can be put in the 3 ring binder. (Please, no pencil boxes. These almost always don't fit in the desks, and fall on the floor.)

4. 1 box of crayons - 16 or 24 pack recommended (Please, do not send crayon boxes as they don't fit in the desks.)

5. 2 pkg. of loose leaf notebook paper - 200 sheets, wide-ruled, not college-ruled

6. 1 spiral notebook - wide-ruled, not college-ruled

7. 1 bottle of white glue or glue stick

8. Pink eraser or pkg. of pencil top erasers - The first thing to go on a pencil is the eraser.

9. 1 pair of scissors

10. 1 box of facial tissue - standard size

11. 1 anti-bacterial soap or liquid

Much Needed Supplies:

1. Colored copier paper - The bright fluorescent colors are best. This can be purchased at Wal-mart, Office Max, Office Depot, etc. We use this for notes home, student journals, learning activities, etc.

2. 1 Sharpie marker - Any color is fine. These are passed out to students to complete projects.

3. Zip-lock baggies - gallon, quart, or sandwich size

The baggies are used to pass out supplies for each student during activities, projects, classroom use, etc.
