Male and female accommodations in separate dormitories with bunk beds (limited private facilities). Guests should bring their own sheets or sleeping bags, or may rent sheets for $2.00 (towels $ .50) from the hostel office. Pillows and blankets are provided free of charge.

The hostel includes a limited guest kitchen (refrigerators, microwaves, dishes, and utensils), lounge area, showers, lockers, and picnic area. Parking is available on the street in front of the hostel. There is no curfew at the Marquette House, although a lights out/quiet hours period is strictly enforced from Midnight until 7:00 a.m..

Smoking (inside the hostel) and alcoholic beverages are prohibited. Facilities may only be used by registered guests of the hostel. Camping and sleeping in vehicles is strictly prohibited, and against the law in New Orleans.

Reservations are required during the two-day period of December 31st and January 1st. BOTH OF THESE DAYS MUST BE RESERVED AND PAID FOR IN ADVANCE. NO PARTIAL RESERVATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED. Additional days during New Year's aside from the two-day package may be reserved, but must also be paid in full and in advance.

Personal cheques (received at least 30 days in advance), money orders payable through a U. S. bank, traveler's cheques, or cash in US dollars are accepted as reservation deposits.

At least 30 days advance cancellation required for a full refund, less a $5.00 cancellation fee, of any reservation during the New Year's/Sugar Bowl period of Dec. 31st through Jan. 1st, 2003, with one-half refund available with 14 days advance notice of cancellation.

Because of the large number of no-shows with paid reservations last year, thus denying other youth hostel members the opportunity of experiencing New Year's in New Orleans …unless notified that arrival will be at a later date of the reservation, any reservations not claimed by Midnight the first night will be cancelled with no refund, and the beds will be made available to other youth hostel members.

NEW YEAR'S RESERVATIONS MAY NOT BE TRANSFERRED, AND THE HOSTEL RESERVES TO RIGHT TO RENT ANY UNUSED RESERVATION DAYS TO OTHER YOUTH HOSTEL MEMBERS WITHOUT REFUND.

The hostel is open for registration of new arrivals from 3:00 PM through Midnight. Guests with New Year's reservations should not arrive earlier that 3:00 PM, as we cannot accommodate you until that time. Guests should plan their air/bus/train connections for arrival well before the hostel closes at Midnight. This is especially true as bad weather in other parts of the country often delays all forms of transportation. In the event that you are delayed, call the hostel office as soon as possible (and before midnight), so that your reservation will not automatically be cancelled, and to see if a late check-in can be arranged.

1. Photo identification is required at check-in (i.e. passport, driver's license, etc.). Guests arriving without proper identification will not be permitted to check-in.

2. Correctly complete the enclosed reservation form, and mail it to The Marquette House, 2249 Carondelet Street, New Orleans, Louisiana 70130 with the proper amount of deposit to cover all bed fees.

3. An email address or self-addressed, stamped envelope must be included with the reservation request for confirmation. Include two postal coupons if reserving from outside the United States.
