Qigong Teacher and Daoist priest, Michael Rinaldini will offer a seven day intensive qigong and Daoist studies retreat at the Cibola Center For Integral Studies.  The content of the retreat will include all of the material regularly covered in Michael’s qigong certification programs, Levels 1 & 2. Inclusive: a full program of core qigong exercises, basics of TCM, Daoism, Daoist meditation, External Qi Healing, assessment and prescription skills and more ... including Daoist Tea Ceremony.
Livia Kohn will be our guest lecturer on Daoist studies and history.

There will be some pre- and post-studies requirements, like reading a required book on qigong and  answering basic questions from it.  Videos/DVDs of the core qigong exercises will be given to participants.

Some of the core Daoist practices we will do this week include twice daily recitation of Daoist scriptures, like the Daode jing, the Qingjing jing, the Yinfu jing, the Dingguan jing and the Zuowanglun.  Michael will lead the group in simple Daoist ceremony-reciting Daoist invocation prayers from White Cloud Monastery, Beijing.  On the fun side of things, in the evenings, we'll look at some qigong videos made by others, and some videos I took at Master Wan Su Jian's center in Beijing.  Also, some video I took during Master Wan's 2006 visit to my center in California, including a great segment on the skill of transmitting qi to others.

On a personal note, Michael lived in the New Mexico high desert when he was younger, pursuing a path as a contemplative monk.  His experiences in this environment made a lasting impression on his mind, and he is very glad to have the opportunity to return to the desert to share his qigong and Daoist knowledge with you.  Furthermore, Michael believes retreats are a time for deep and sincere practice without the distractions of our ordinary lives.  To facilitate an atmosphere of clarity and stillness, participants are asked not to bring any items, like cell phones, ipods, laptops and the like.  The retreat facility will provide telephone service for basic needs.

Follow the links below to learn more about Michael, his certification program, or read some of his articles on qigong and meditation.

Reserve a space early as space is limited to 12 participants
( Update:  As of March 18, 2007,  six  people have already signed up )
