Medical Qigong Exercises
Chinese Health Exercises for Mind, Body & Spirit
Experience the self-healing art of qigong- a 5,000 year old Chinese healing system. In Daoist qigong health or healing is gained as an added benefit to cultivating one's internal energies for the purpose of longevity and the quest for spiritual immortality. Daoist qigong aims to harmonize the body and mind with vital essence and vital energy, thus attaining a still and clear mind, and merging with the undifferentiated One or Dao.

Zuowang Meditation
Daoist meditation practice translated as "sitting and forgetting." Zuowang is a non-conceptual method of meditation, derived from early Daoist scriptures, like the Zhuangzi and the Zuowanglun. It incorporates the view that our true nature consists of non-dual awareness. The view states that there is really nothing to attain, since our Original Nature is already Complete. Zuowang is considered to be the core practice of Daoism.

National Qigong Association Conference, 2008
Michael will be offering an all day workshop at the National Qigong Association annual conference in Baltimore, August 8-10, 2008. The subject of the workshop will be Zuowang Qigong. Participation in his workshop can be credited towards his Qigong Certification Training Program. Workshop description:
Zuowang Qigong is applying the practice of wuwei (zuowang-sitting forgetting) to ordinary qigong exercises. To practice qigong with this view is to hold no pre-conceived or contrived concepts of the benefits of qigong. Instead, it is to maintain an open and spacious mind free of expectations, restrictions, desires, and especially concepts of a separate self-namely subject and object, or even the dualistic thinking of healthy and not healthy. Zuowang is the Daoist and Buddhist view that there are not two things in the entire universe. This idea can be summed up in just two words, "not two."
In the workshop, we will study the origins of the zuowang view, practice sitting forgetting, learn some qigong, and then put these all together into Zuowang Qigong.
