MidiView Screen Description
Screen 1: Overview of MidiView screen at 640x480 resolution The Channel Options dialog box occupies the left side of the screen. Checkboxes select which of the 16 MIDI channels to Play (column 1), list Notes (column 2), and list Events (column 3). The <=All checkbox below each column enables all channels. To the right of the checkboxes, the note color for each channel is shown in the Color Legend, while the enclosed Volume bar graph indicates the present volume. The Channel Information listbox (to the right of the Color Legend) shows the Channel, Track, Program number, and Name of the instrument. Select the System checkbox to list system events such as tempo and key signature. Select the Blend checkbox to blend the colors of overlapping notes. The Trk, Chn, and Prog options change the instrument assigned to a given track or channel after you click [Apply]. The 'Color by' radio buttons instantly change the note colors according to their Channel, Program, Track, Note/key, or Volume. The Text Listbox at the bottom left lists embedded text and detailed information about each note or event. The Score View window on the right side of the screen displays the music and the Control Bar below it lets you control the playback. You can choose whether to show or hide the Channel Options, Score View, or Control Bar. For more details about these features, see Screen 2: Score View and Control Bar Description (12k GIF).
