Trekking the Jalori Pass - Home

Itinerary for the Jalori Pass Trek
Day 1 :  Take the luxury bus from Chandigarh / Amballa / Delhi in the evening.

Day 2 :   Reach the base camp  in the Kullu valley. After breakfast leave for a short river crossing experience on the ice cold waters of the river Beas. Back to camp for lunch. In the evening we go for a Rappelling session and a short trek for acclimatisation .
Day 3 :   We start for the main trek from the village of Thalot.The climb to the village of Panjain is a very steep climb but very enjoyable. After the half way mark we start getting the wonderful view of the snow capped Himalayas. We reach the village of Panjain as the sun goes down. Our resting place is in one of the local houses. Hot meal is already ready made by our cooks.

Day 4 :   Today is a day for a mild trek. We drive upto the village of Thatchi and then trek upto the Hadimba temple. This trek is a gradual  2 Kms from Thatchi. After yeasterday's trek this seems easy. The Hadimba temple offers a magnificent view of the entire Kullu valley. After a short rest at the temple we climb  down to the village of Panjain. Panjain is a beautiful village and reminds one of Switzerland.

In the picture you can notice the River Beas flowing through the Kullu valley. The resort town of Manali lies at the Northern end of the picture, near the clouds and the snow capped mountains.
Day 5 :   After breakfast we trek down to the roadhead of Bali Chowky and then take the local bus to Jhibhi. Reach Jhibhi in 2 hours and camp.
Day 6 :   Trek up to the Jalori Pass and then trek through thick Jungles to reach the Holy Sereulsar lake. It is a very beautiful trek thorugh very thick jungles. The lake lies at an altitude of 11500 feet. A trek to this area in december is a rewarding sight with the lake frozen white.
Day 7 :   After breakfast we leave for our Base Camp at Jhidi by bus. Reach Jhidi by afternoon and pack our baggage for the journey back to Delhi. Take the bus at 7 pm to Delhi.

Day 8 :   Reach Delhi at 8.30 am. Treks ends. Thank you.

Dates for this trek :   The trek departs from Mumbai and Delhi. You can take this trek on any day of the year. From Mumbai to Mumbai add 2 more days train travel in the Itinerary. Hence the trek from Mumbai to Mumbai will be 11 days. This Trek is available for participants from all over India.
Rates for this trek :   Rates for foreign nationals on fixed departure dates is US $ 450/- person Delhi to Delhi and on other days it is US $ 500/- per person.

Rates for Indian nationals is Rs 8950/- per person Mumbai to Mumbai or from any other destination in India and Rs 8150/- Delhi to Delhi on fixed departure dates.
